A week had gone by, and Yunji had been successful at avoiding Jisung. Other than in class, she rarely saw him, which was relieving. She truly had no clue how to act around him after the club, opting to avoid that scenario altogether.

Every two weeks, the students had a mandatory PE class. Despite being quite unnecessary, it was a good way to take a break from constantly dancing and have a relaxing and fun way to exercise.

Yunji's class and Sumi and Dahae's class had combined lessons, so Yunji always had fun. However, for this class, the teacher had announced they'd be playing dodgeball, so the two homerooms were pinned against each other.

Yunji mostly stayed at the back, dodging rather than throwing, since she knew she wasn't the strongest. And realistically, she didn't have to throw the ball, since Jisung was already doing that for everyone. His balls were totally un-catchable, the raw strength of the throws eliminating half of the enemy team. Although their class was also rapidly losing players, it was clear that they were the current winners.

The players on the enemy team changed their focus from Jisung to the other students of Yunji's class who were mostly standing around and dodging. Yunji was truly doing her best, managing to avoid most of the balls thrown at her. As always, she stayed alert, keeping tabs on any players with dodgeballs and where they were throwing them.

However, she failed to account for an enemy classmate who lurked in the corner of the field whilst holding a ball, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Yunji was too busy avoiding several balls aimed at her, so she didn't spot him. At least not until one of her eliminated classmates yelled, "Yunji, watch out!"

Yunji turned her head, finally spotting the player. But it was too late as he pulled his arm back and chucked the ball in her direction with incredible speed. Yunji instantly realized that it was too quick for her to catch or avoid and that the ball was aimed straight at her face.

She closed her eyes, waiting for the unavoidable impact.

But it never came.

Opening her eyes, Yunji spotted an open palm right in front of her face. Her head whipped to the side to find Jisung standing there, panting heavily. He was staring down at the player who had thrown the ball, but eventually, his gaze shifted to Yunji. She finally realized what had happened- in his haste, Jisung had extended his hand and the ball had bounced off of it, protecting Yunji's face.

The two classes erupted into either cheers or groans, some even ooing admirably at Jisung's protective action. He exhaled a long sigh, then sent a smirk Yunji's way before he walked off the court.

Something tingled Yunji in the pit of her stomach. Her eyes remained on Jisung until she was forced to focus on the game again. However, no matter how hard they tried, without their best player, their class eventually lost, Yunji being among the last to get eliminated.

As the losers, their class had to tidy up the gym. Yunji was put on ball-clearing duty, holding a basket as several classmates tossed the soft balls into them. When all the balls were collected, she turned on her heel and began making her way to the supply room. As she entered through the heavy wooden doors, she was instantly met with Park Jisung, who'd just finished dropping off another basket of dodgeballs.
