"Yes, I'm here. Don't worry anymore."
"How am I NOT supposed to worry?! You're stuck there with Park Jisung of all people!"
Yunji sighed as she leaned against the bathroom counter. "It's fine. We've been here before, Sumi, and everything turned out all right."
"Yeah, because it was the BOTH of us. Now you're there, all alone, with him. Do you even trust that guy?"
Yunji's eyes trailed to the bathroom door, which was locked shut.
She and Jisung successfully escaped the school grounds and were at Chenle's family apartment after a short commute. Yunji was still a bit dazed by the situation, in utter disbelief that such a thing happened to her. Especially because it was due to her own carelessness.
And yet, throughout it all... She did trust Jisung. Wholeheartedly. And that thought scared her. Since when had she and Jisung become close enough for her to feel so comfortable around him?
Deciding to return her focus to the situation, Yunji spoke again. "I trust him enough. Seriously, I'll be fine, don't worry about me."
She could hear Sumi's typical groan of dissatisfaction over the phone. However, it wasn't long before the girl replied. "If anything happens, call me. I'll be there to kick that guy's ass in no time."
"The police would be quicker, no?" Dahae's feeble voice sounded over the line, however she was quickly shushed by Sumi.
"Thank you girls for your concern." Yunji smiled lightly. "I appreciate it."
"Surely you'll also appreciate the scolding I'll give you once you're back," Sumi grumbled.
Her comment made Yunji draw a mental bridge between her best friend and Chenle since their comments were quite similar. However, she quickly waved the thought away, knowing that Sumi would kill her for such a vile comparison.
"All right, all right. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" Yunji pleaded in a tired voice, and her two friends bid her goodbye before the call was cut.
Yunji's hand dropped to her side, her eyes once again returning to the door.
Why did she trust Jisung so much?
That thought persevered as she hauled herself up and left the bathroom. Following a short walk down the hallway, she arrived at the living room. Jisung was lazily lying on the couch, scrolling on his phone.
"Hey, you got some clothes that I can wear to sleep?" Yunji asked as Jisung's eyes locked onto hers. "Since last time Sumi and I borrowed Chenle's clothes, do you think it would be all right if I did it again this time?"
"No!" Jisung exclaimed, stumbling to his feet. Yunji's eyebrows raised in surprise- she'd never seen the boy so jittery before.
Jisung noticed her confusion and quickly cleared his throat. "I actually have some clothes here, since I tend to stay over quite often. Let me get some for you."
