"HHAHAHA PLEASE, I CAN'T- AHA." Sumi's loud laughter echoed through the practice room, earning herself and her friends a couple of looks from the rest of the ballet class.
Yunji couldn't help but remain red in the face as she told her two friends what had happened earlier that day. As neither was in her class, they couldn't see it for themselves, and Sumi found the situation particularly hilarious.
"You told him you'd throw him off a rooftop?" Dahae repeated in disbelief, and Yunji nodded her head.
"But in retrospect, he deserved it."
"That's for sure, but girl, you're wayyyy too short-tempered." Sumi wiped a tear off the corner of her eye as she switched from a front split to a side split. "You played right into his trap."
"You don't have the right to tell me that. Not when you beat up that freshman last year for calling your flip-flops ugly." Yunji retorted.
"To be fair, they were pretty sick flip-flops, so no regrets." Sumi shrugged, and Yunji rolled her eyes.
"What else happened?" Dahae inquired.
"What else? When class ended the teacher came out to yell at us in front of everyone again. I'm getting a demerit."
"Oof. That sucks." Sumi exclaimed whilst still giggling.
"Alright, boys and girls, that's enough stretching. Gather up." Their ballet teacher called out, and the entire class got up to follow her instructions.
"Today, we'll be doing partner work." She proclaimed with a wide smile, and all of the students began whispering excitedly. "We all know how important it is to be able to dance with a partner. Some of the most famous ballet recitals in the world are duets. Hence, we'll be practicing this skill by preparing a performance from the ballet 'Romeo and Juliet'!"
The whole class erupted in cheers, which was very uncharacteristic of them, which showed that the level of excitement was very high.
"Alright, alright, usher down." The teacher instructed before taking out a list from her folder. "Here are the pairings that I have prepared."
Due to the unbalanced ratio of female to male students, Yunji ended up with Sumi as her partner, which she was actually quite excited about. The problem commenced when the teacher announced the last pairing.
"Finally, Dahae and Linkai."
Yunji's heart dropped as she glanced towards Dahae, whose face had taken on a ghostly look. Sumi was also quick to realize the issue, but Yunji was quicker to react as she got closer to Dahae.
"If you want, I can go talk to Miss about this-"
"N-no. I'm... fine." Dahae retorted, stuttering from how shaky her body had become. Yunji and Sumi shared a glance, but before they could push the matter any further, Linkai arrived beside them.
