"Yunji!!"

"Yunji!!"

The girl raised her eyes from the pages of her book. A day had passed, and she was once again alone in her room, enjoying the peaceful evening. Her mother calling her was not unusual at this time, and Yunji expected that she would be called down to dinner or to participate in some cheesy family night (which she hated to admit that she enjoyed very much).

"What?" She retorted semi-loudly, and then awaited a response.

But nothing.

"Whatttt????" She yelled a bit louder, yet to no avail.

Yunji didn't bother with a third yell. From the distance of her voice, her mother was probably downstairs, and likely couldn't hear her. Thus, with a grunt, she got out of her comfortable position on the bed and left her book behind before trecking down the stairs.

"What mama?" She questioned as she peaked into the kitchen.

"Could you be a sweetie and bring some of last night's leftovers to the neighbours? Annie and I definitely overestimated the portions, and we can't eat all of this before it goes bad."

Yunji briefly eyed the plastic containers on the kitchen counter, and audibly groaned.

"Mama, are you really sending your injured daughter to do a chore?" She asked, and her mother looked back at her.

"You yourself said that your leg is mostly healed, and you can walk just fine." Eunha proclaimed, and although she kept her face straight, Yunji didn't miss the glimmer of mischief in her eyes. The girl hated her words being used against her.

Knowing she'd lost the battle, Yunji sighed. "Fine."

"I'll put them all in a bag so it's easier on you hun."

"Okay, okay." Yunji grumbled in response, and walked closer as she watched her mother swiftly place the 5-or-so containers into a beige tote bag.

"Here," Eunha smiled as she handed Yunji the bag. "Just there and back. And once you're home again, we can have a family movie night. How does that sound?"

"Sure mama." Yunji retorted, and her mother gave sweetly ruffled her hair before walking into a different room.

With a glint of anxiety, the young girl commenced her walk out the door and towards the house next door. Her nerves pooled in her stomach, an uncomfortable aura accompanying her. Despite supposedly making peace, she was nervous about seeing Jisung. She'd preferably not see him at all for the rest of the vacation. Or for the rest of her life. But now it became a question whether that was because of how much she hated him, or because of the new, weird feelings she harbored towards him.

Surely Jisung's mom or dad will open the door.
She assured herself. By this hour, most working adults were home. Also, from what she knew, Minjeong worked short hours, so she was home most of the time.
