A week and a half had gone by, and Yunji had been doing a relatively good job at avoiding Jisung.
The day after the rumors were unleashed, she went to their homeroom teacher and asked for her seat to get switched. The educator had been reluctant, but Yunji had practically begged, so her wish was granted. She now sat at the front of the classroom, which she was fine with, as long as it was far away from Jisung.
The boy had tried to approach her once when they encountered in the dance building, but Yunji had swiftly brushed him off, although he didn't seem to have gotten the message. So, whenever she saw him, Yunji would rush in the other direction, and once she even hid behind some bushes so he wouldn't see her.
Her coldness towards him didn't go unnoticed by the other students, who gossiped relentlessly about a supposed breakup. But Yunji didn't care, as the number of people approaching her regarding the rumors had substantially decreased, so her stress regarding the matter had almost disappeared. Now, her whole focus was on her solo, and she spent every single free second practicing.
Once again, just a couple of days before the performance, Yunji was in the ballet room, constantly repeating the dance to iron out any minute mistakes to make it flawless. Mid-routine, the door opened, and she quickly glanced in its direction to find Minji standing there. Yunji didn't stop however, and executed the rest of her dance almost perfectly.
As she finished up, Minji clapped and walked up to Yunji with a beaming smile.
"That was amazing!" She exclaimed, and Yunji smiled.
"Thank you." The girl retorted with a small smile. "What's up?"
Minji was one of few fashion design students, and the only one that Yunji was close with. Thus, she'd asked her to design her outfit for the performance, which Minji was very glad to do. Using the school's finances, the two girls agreed on a design, selected the materials, and by now, Minji was nearly done.
"I can't decide where to sew on the diamonds, so I thought I'd ask." Minji exclaimed, and took out her phone to show Yunji some pictures.
The latter gasped. "It's stunning!"
"Thanks, but these jewels have to be perfect to make it even more stunning. So, which placement do you like more?"
"Hmm, I don't know, they both look great." Yunji wondered aloud, swiping between the two images. However, eventually they agreed on the second design, and Minji stored the phone back in her pocket.
"Alright, so I should be fully done by tomorrow, and we'll have two days to make any final adjustments." She proclaimed, "But seriously, you don't realize how much it means to me that you asked me to do this. I'm never getting such a good opportunity, like, ever again."
"I'm more grateful, trust me. You're the best." Yunji embraced Minji tightly, and as the two girls parted, they decided to leave together to head to the lunch room.
