"Paisley!" My dad shouted from his spot on the couch."Yes dad?" I said and slowly walked down the stairs.
"Go grocery shopping when you get home and clean this damn house, it's filthy." He yelled and waved his beer bottle around.
"Okay I will." I said with a sigh and went to get my backpack so I could get to school.
"Get out, I don't want to see your disgusting face anymore." He shouted which sent me out of the house.
I let out a sigh as I closed the door behind me. At least it was beautiful out so the walk to school wouldn't be terrible. I inhaled the nice fresh air and started my ten minute walk to school.
When I got to school I walked up the steps like I always did. I made my way through the halls as quickly and quietly as I could so I could get to my locker that was on the second floor.
I didn't have many friends at school, actually I had none. I was better off without them. It was just drama that I didn't need. Plus I was fine on my own. I've been on my own for most of my life so there was no point really.
As I walked to my locker, completely zoned out and not paying attention, I felt myself walk into a large wall. Except it wasn't a wall, it was someone's back.
"Sorry I wasn't looking where I was going." I said quietly as he turned around to face me.
"It's alright, are you okay?" He asked and went to put his hand on my shoulder. I flinched a bit once I saw his hand coming towards me and backed away.
"I'm fine. I just have to get to my locker." I said and walked past him so I could go to my locker.
When I got to my locker further down the hall I put in the combination and opened it. I grabbed my stuff from my locker that I'd need for my first few classes. I was searching for my French textbook which I couldn't find anywhere. I ended up catching a glimpse of it on the top shelf, which I couldn't reach. I must've just thrown it up there Friday while I was rushing to get home and take a nap.
"Need some help?" The same blonde boy that I just bumped into asked and leaned against the lockers next to mine. I've never even talked to him until today, and I wouldn't really say that counted considering it was just a few words.
I didn't know him, but I knew he was popular and loved by everyone here. So why was he at my locker?
"No I'm okay." I said and went on my tippy toes to try and get my textbook. I watched as his hand effortlessly grabbed my textbook off the shelf. I went back down on my flat feet and watched as he read the cover with an impressed look on his face.
"French five honors huh? That's impressive." He said and handed the textbook to me.
"Um thanks." I said skeptically and took the book from him.
"I'm Luke." He said as I closed my locker.
"Okay." I said and went to turn around to head to class that would be starting soon.
"Wait." He said and took my arm and pulled me back.
"Don't touch me." I scolded and peeled his hand off of me.
"Sorry sorry, me and my friends are just very touchy." He said and chewed on his lip ring as he scratched his beard.
"Well we aren't friends so." I said and went to turn around again.
"Wait what's your name?" He asked and stood in front of me.
"I have to get to class." I stated and went around him so I wouldn't be late.
"That's quite the name." He chuckled and followed me down the hall. I just gave him an unamused look as he stood in front of me yet again before walking around him.
"Are you really not going to tell me?" He said as I headed down the hall. I just shook my head as I walked down the hall to my first class of the day.
