"Hey Paisey Pie." Luke said as he walked off the field and enveloped me in a bone crushing hug.

"You're pretty good Luke." I said and pulled away from his sweaty body.

"Just pretty good?" He teased.

"I know close to nothing about baseball so take that with a grain of salt." I said which caused a squeaky and high pitched laugh to escape his lips. I smiled as the beautiful sound echoed through my ears and my eyes watched him throw his head back in laughter. Everything about him was seriously magnificent.

"Guess I'll have to teach you." He said and pulled me in for another tight hug while placing a kiss on my cheek.

"You're sweaty and smell bad." I said and tried to push him away.

"Really Pais?" He asked with his jaw hung wide open. He then started wiping his sweaty cheeks all over mine that had black paint staining them.

"Luke." I groaned but couldn't help but laugh as I tried to wipe my cheeks clean of black paint and sweat. He laughed yet again before taking my hands away from my face and leaning down to kiss me. I felt him smile against my lips which then caused me to smile. He didn't have his lip ring in because he couldn't have it in for baseball. So it felt a little different compared to the kiss we shared this morning but still amazing nonetheless.

"Come on let's go home, then we can go get something to eat." He said while taking my hand and leading me out to the parking lot. I waved to Caroline and the other boys I knew as we passed them. I caught Caroline smiling like a goofball when she saw us which just made me laugh and shake my head.

"Hey Luke?" I questioned as he drove us back to his house.

"What's up angel?" He asked and squeezed my fingers in my lap.

"I feel like I don't know you as much as you know me." I said and leaned my head against the headrest. He was quiet for a while as he drove down the dimmed road due to the sun setting slightly.

"That's fair. What do you want to know?" He asked.

"I just want to know what makes you you." I said truthfully.

"Then you will." He said and briefly looked at me.

"What do you thinks gonna happen? With my dad I mean. I just feel like right now things are too good and they'll get ruined somehow." I said and looked down at our hands that were in my lap.

"You don't have to worry about him sweetheart. He won't find you and he won't hurt you anymore." He said reassuringly but I still felt this awful pit in my stomach. He never let me get away as easily as he did.

"What if he tries to hurt you?" I asked and kept looking down at my lap.

"He could try, but that doesn't mean that he will. I won't let him hurt me and I won't let him hurt you. Everything's going to be alright, and once we're off at university it'll be easier for you to feel safe." He said and laced our fingers together and tightly held my hand.

"I don't feel safe unless I'm with you." I whispered and pressed my lips together.

"Then you'll always be with me." He said and brought my hand up to his lips to kiss my knuckles.
