Six years later...Paisley woke up to emptiness in her bed. Other than the weight of their dog Petunia, the bed was completely empty. She looked around the bright room for her boyfriend of nearly six whole years, but ultimately finding nothing.
Usually whenever Luke wouldn't be home he told her what he was doing, when he was leaving, and when he'd be home. But he had said nothing about doing anything today.
She could still feel the warmth from his body where he was once laying next to her, so she knew he couldn't have been gone for long. She was also able to put together that he wasn't downstairs cooking breakfast for the two, as she would be able to hear him dropping stuff everywhere and making a huge mess.
She looked down at Petunia, who was already looking up at her "Wanna go out?"
Petunia's ears perked up the slightest bit before the two climbed out of bed and headed downstairs.
The short brunette opened the sliding glass door that led to their backyard and patio while Petunia sluggishly made her way out the door.
She made herself a cup of coffee and filled up Petunia's food bowl while she waited for the water to heat up.
Like most mornings, it was peaceful and quiet, with only the birds chirping and the sound of the coffee machine doing its thing. Paisley made her way outside to sit on the patio after mixing cream and sugar into her hot cup of coffee. She watched Petunia roll around in the grass, occasionally trying to eat it or chase the butterfly that seemed to be antagonizing her.
She looked at the various flowers and plants that were all over the backyard and felt the fresh morning air against her skin. After some time she decided she should run some errands like grocery shopping or getting stuff for around the house.
She walked up to the sliding door and opened it, calling for Petunia to come in. "Piggy come inside." She whistled and waved her hand towards the door. Petunia followed and went inside, jumping on the couch to fall fast asleep like she always did.
While walking up to her room, Paisley tried to think of what she wanted to wear. After deciding that she wanted to dress comfortably, she picked out some sweats and one of Luke hoodies. It was February, so it was pretty cold out, and she didn't want to get ready just to run errands.

After a few hours of getting some things for the house, Paisley came home to find Luke's car in the driveway. She walked through the house, having to make multiple trips in and out to get all of the bags in the house. It was dead silent in their large house, which was surprising to her since usually whenever Luke was home something would be going on.
Luke was always making some sort of noise. Whether he was yelling at a video game, talking at the tv, up in their music room fooling around, or just singing around the house like he always was. He was always making some sort of noise.
"Babe are you home?" She called out softly and looked around the house. As she walked in the living room she saw his long legs dangling off the edge of the couch. No response was heard so she was quick to assume he was sleeping.
Her assumption was proven to be right once she made her way around the couch and saw Luke fast asleep with his head laying on Petunia's stomach, who was also sleeping. She gently moved his long blonde curls out of his face so she could get a better view of him.
Watching Luke sleep was one of her favorite things, just because he was so beautiful and peaceful. She could do it forever.
She laid down next to him, feeling him pull her into him instantly. They both wake up early, so when they weren't busy they often took quick naps together anyway. Luke just seemed to have woken up much earlier today.
