"Mum are you home?" Luke called out as he heard the jingle of keys and the door open."Yeah I'm home. How was your day sweetie?" She said and put her stuff down in the room before heading into the living room where we were.
"Oh- who's this?" She asked and looked at me in slight surprise.
"This is my friend Paisley." He said with a smile. I sat up straight in the couch and smiled at her while she smiled back at me.
"Hi Paisley, I'm Liz. It's nice to meet you." She said and sat down on the loveseat.
"Do you know when dads going to be home?" He asked before I could respond to her.
"A little while probably. Why?" She asked and took out her phone.
"We need to talk about something." He said which made her out her phone down and look at him worriedly.
"About what?" She asked and furrowed her eyebrows.
"It can wait until he gets home." He said while she just looked at him suspiciously but went back on her phone.

When Luke's dad got home he introduced himself to me and did the usual introduction or whatever. The four of us were all sitting on the couches in the large room while Luke explained everything to them. He didn't let me do much talking but honestly that was probably better off. I didn't want to end up crying in front of them so I was kind of grateful.
The whole time I kind of just looked at the floor because I was afraid of the looks they'd have on their faces. What if they didn't care and they sent me home just like everyone else? I can't go home. It's never even been a home, it's just been a place I stay. I've always resented that place because of him, and I don't think I've ever felt safe anywhere in my entire life.
"Paisley honey is this true?" Liz asked and I just slowly nodded my head.
"I'm so sorry this has been happening to you. You can stay with us for as long as you need to and we can figure something out for you. This is your home now." She said and sat down next to me.
"Thank you." I said and felt a huge weight being lifted off my shoulders. I was so grateful for them and they'd never have any idea how grateful I really am.
"There's no need to thank us." She said and pulled me in for a hug.
"Luke why don't you show her up to her new room so she can get settled for the night." His dad said since it was kind of late by now. Luke stood up from the couch with me following him. I thanked them one more time before I climbed the stairs and let Luke show me up to my room.
"You can stay in this room. You're bathroom is through this door and my rooms right there." He said and showed me the door to the bathroom and then where is room was from mine.
"Oh and I can give you some of my clothes to sleep in and wash yours so you have some for tomorrow." He said before he walked out of my room.
"Yeah sure." I said and watched him leave my room and go down the hall to his.
When he came back to my room with a t-shirt and a pair of sweats I took them and went to the bathroom to change. His clothes were huge on me and I'm sure I looked pretty ridiculous. His sweats were extremely baggy and practically falling off my hips and his shirt was way too long. I quickly washed off my makeup from this morning in the sink and left the bathroom.
When I walked out of the bathroom and handed him my clothes he stared at me with a look I couldn't figure out. By now I was kind of used to him randomly looking at me but it still always felt weird.
"Stop looking at me." I said after he took my clothes from my hands and still kept his gaze on me.
"No." He said with a chuckle and kept looking at me.
"And why not? It's making me uncomfortable." I said and watched him smirk at me.
"You look cute in my clothes." He said which made my cheeks turn bright red.
"I'm gonna go to bed." I said and walked over to the large bed to divert the conversation.
"Well goodnight then Paisey Pie." He said with a chuckle and left my room.
