"Paisley."

"P wake up." Luke giggled and shook my shoulders.

"Go away." I grumbled and put my pillow over my head.

"You know you're very cute when you sleep." He said and sat on the edge of my bed.

"As if." I scoffed and felt him lay his head in my lap.

"Wake up P, we have to go soon." He said and tore the pillow off my head and threw it across the room.

"Where are we going?" I asked with sleep still in my voice while I stretched and rubbed my eyes.

"Lunch date, and maybe we'll go see a movie." He said and lifted his head from my lap.

"I hope you wanna see a movie to actually see a movie instead of bringing me there to make out in the back of the theater the whole time. Because only one of those things are happening." I said and sat up in the bed.

"Is it the second one?" He asked with a smirk.

"Absolutely not." I scoffed and shook my head.

"Get ready, I'll be at your door at 12:30." He said and briskly placed a kiss on my cheek which caught me by surprise. My cheek turned bright red but luckily he didn't see because that would be embarrassing.

I looked at the time on the alarm clock next to my bed and saw that it was 11. My eyes widened and I immediately got up to take a shower and get ready.

I had no idea what to wear. I've never been on a date before, and even if I wasn't entirely sure that I wanted to be on this date, I still wanted to look nice.

After I showered I ended up picking out a nice light pink corduroy skirt and a white shirt to tuck into it. I also threw on my white high top Converse before starting my hair and makeup.

I curled the ends of my hair after doing my makeup and decided that I was ready. Less than ten seconds later I heard a knock at my door.

"One second." I said and quickly went to spray myself with perfume.

"You look beautiful." Luke said with a smile once I opened the door to see him leaning against the wall.

"Thank you." I said and looked down as I walked out of the room to hide my blush and my smile.

"Don't think you can hide that from me." He said and tucked my hair behind my ear to show my blush and smile that I thought I hid pretty well.

"Where are we going?" I asked to divert the subject.

"Well where do you wanna go?" He asked and walked with me downstairs.

"Doesn't matter." I said and shrugged my shoulders.

"Well I don't want to take you to a place that you don't like." He said and grabbed his keys.

"Then let's go somewhere that has everything." I said and waited for him by the door.

"I have the perfect place." He said and opened the door for me to walk through and followed me out to his porch.

When we got to his car I went to open the door but he smacked my hand away and opened it for me.

"M'lady." He said in a posh accent and gestures towards the open door.

"I'm not your lady dork." I said and flicked his nose before I got in the car.

"Not yet." He said and closed the door before getting in on the drivers side.

"You're very confident you know, that might come back to bite you in the ass." I said as he started the car and pulled out of his driveway.

"Confidence is what gets the ladies Pais." He said matter of factly.

"It's not getting me is it?" I joked and looked down at my lap.

"You're just being difficult. I know you like me you just don't want to admit it, that's the one barrier we've got here." He said which made me laugh a bit.

"I do not like you." I said with a slight laugh.

"Don't lie to me P, it won't do you any good. Don't you want to be able to call someone as sexy as me your boyfriend?" He asked smugly which made me scoff out a laugh.

"You think highly of yourself." I pointed out.

"Not really actually, I just make it look that way." He said truthfully which kind of surprised me.

"You do? How come?" I asked while he just shrugged.

"The pitcher on the baseball team is supposed to be confident right? Especially when everyone loves you." He said with a slight sigh.

"You're not supposed to be anything, you just are what you are. If you're not as confident as you make yourself seem then that's okay. I don't think anyone will love you any less if you aren't as confident as you make yourself seem." I said seriously and looked over at him.

"Well I'm too far gone now, I can't just dramatically change into the person I really am in a day. Only my friends and family really see that." He said and shrugged his shoulders.

"Acting and pretending to be someone you're not can take a toll on you. Why do you think I have no friends?" I said and leaned my head against the headrest.

"I always just thought you hated everyone honestly." He said.

"That's part of the reason yeah." I said with a sigh.

"What's the other part?" He asked.

"People wanted me to be something I wasn't, and they got disappointed when I was myself and didn't like me. So I started being mean to people as a defense mechanism because at least if they didn't like me it wouldn't be the real me." I said and looked out the window.

"Well I like you, and our friends like you." He said matter of factly.

"They're your friends." I said.

"No, they like you a lot. They consider you one of us." He said and briefly looked at me.

"They hardly know me." I argued.

"Okay fine, I like you. Is that enough?" He asked.

"I supposed." I joked and watched him get an offended look on his face.
