"What are you doing?" Luke asked which made me spin around the face him at my door."Locking the windows." I said and played around with my fingers.
"You don't need to lock your windows." He said with a slight chuckle while I just shrugged and continued locking them.
"You're safe here Paisley." He said and put his hands on my shoulders to turn me around which made me jump.
"You can't just touch me like that." I scolded and tried to catch my breath. He just smirked and looked at me for a while which I never understood. I don't know what goes on in his head and it scares me a little.
"Why are you always smirking at me?" I groaned and crossed my arms over my chest.
"You used to get mad when I touched you, now you get mad when I touch you too abruptly." He said with a mixture of a smile and a smirk. I felt my cheeks get warm as I processed what he said. I mean he was right. I didn't mind him touching me anymore as long as it didn't catch me off guard or scare the shit out of me, because frankly I actually liked his touch.
"Mhm." I hummed and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wipe my makeup off.
"I told you you'd start liking me." He said smugly and leaned against the doorframe that separates the bathroom from the bedroom.
"What makes you think I do?" I asked as I put some toothpaste on my toothbrush.
"You held my hand, you let me hold your hand, you let me touch you, and you blush when I call you pretty or say certain things to you." He said with a closed mouth smile as he watched me brush my teeth. I didn't really know what to say so I just rolled my eyes at him and looked in the mirror as I brushed my teeth.
"Go out with me." He said and walked closer to me.
"Why?" I asked with my toothbrush in my mouth.
"Because I like you and I think you like me too." He said and placed his hand down on the counter of the bathroom.
"I like you as a friend." I said and spit out my toothpaste and rinsed off my toothbrush.
"You did not just friend zone me." He said with an offended look on his face.
"I did." I said with no guilt on my face whatsoever.
"Guess I'll just have to work a bit harder then." He said and kept looking at me.
"Why do you want to go out with me so bad?" I asked in genuine confusion and looked up at him.
"Because I like you." He said and shrugged his shoulders.
"But why? I'm not cool, I'm not smart, I'm not pretty or athletic or popular. I don't have the body of everyone else at our school that all the boys obsess over. I'm mean, closed off, and can't deal with physical affection in any sort of way. I have baggage and I have problems and I have absolutely no experience with relationships at all." I ranted while he just watched me with an amused look on his face.
"You really wanna know why?" He asked with the quirk of an eyebrow.
"Obviously that's why I asked." I said with an eye roll.
"Then go out with me tomorrow. It's Saturday so we don't have school, and neither of us have anything to do for the majority of the day. I'll take you out before my game tomorrow night." He said in a convincing tone.
"I can't go out with you if I don't like you like how you like me, it's not fair to you." I said and crossed my arms over my chest.
"I know you don't like me yet, but I'm working on it. I'm willing to accept the fact that this date is completely one sided if I just get to take you out." He said and leaned against the counter in the bathroom.
"Luke you're killing me here." I groaned and let out a sigh as I looked up at the ceiling.
"Just say yes Paisley, what do you have to lose?" He said with a smile.
"Not much but that has nothing to do with it." I said which made him laugh.
"I'll tell you why I like you so much tomorrow at lunch." He said with a smile and turned around to leave the bathroom.
"I never agreed to-"
"Goodnight Paisley."
