"Sit with me at lunch today." Luke came up behind me while I was at my locker, which scared me half to death.

"Why would I do that?" I asked and started transferring books and such from my locker to my bag or vice versa.

"Because we're friends and friends sit with each other duh." He said with an eye roll and leaned against the locker next to mine.

"But I'm not friends with your friends." I said matter of factly.

"So become friends with my friends. They're super nice, you'll love them." He said confidently.

"Like you said I'll love you? I'm still waiting for that to happen by the way." I said sarcastically.

"You will love me don't worry. I'll have you wrapped around my finger." He said with a confident smirk.

"That's what you want isn't it?" I asked and turned to look at him.

"That's a trick question I can tell." He said while I closed my locker and started walking to class.

"I told you I like you. I'm not talking to you for any reason other than that, I just like being around you. Just because I may be more popular or whatever doesn't mean anything." He said as he briskly followed me through the halls.

"I'm sure." I said and nodded my head.

"Hey." He said and took my hand and kept me from walking.

"I don't like people touching me." I said and slowly took my hand out of his grasp.

"Why?" He asked with a genuinely curious look on his face.

"Because I don't. Do I have to have a reason?" I said and held my books tightly in my arms.

"No, but I'm sure you do." He said and kept his gaze on me.

"What makes you think that?" I asked.

"I'm sure you have a reason for all of your little quirks. Everyone has a reason for everything right? Even if they don't realize." He said and shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't." I said and turned around to go to class.

"I know you do." He said and kept following me down the hall.

"So what if I do? That doesn't mean I'm going to tell you." I said bitterly.

"I don't expect you to. I know you, and I know that you're closed off." He said which made me scoff.

"You don't know me." I said and walked straight into my class.

"Paisley." A voice said which made me sigh and turn around to see Luke standing behind me.

"Yes?" I asked with an unamused look on my face.

"Come with me." He said with a smile and nudged his head towards the big doors of the library.

"I told you I'm not sitting with you and your friends." I said.

"I'll do anything you want if you do." He said and leaned over the table I was sitting at.

"I don't want you to do anything." I said and looked back down at my book.

"Please Paisley? They want you to sit with us." He said which made my ears perk up a bit.

"Huh?" I asked and looked at him in confusion.

"They want you to sit with us, I promise they're nice." He said in a convincing tone which made me sigh and close my book. He smiled widely when I put my book away and stood up from the table to follow him to the cafeteria. It's not like I had anything to lose really.

"I hate you you know." I said as we walked out of the library and towards the stairs.

"No you don't." He said with a cheesy smile.

"I'm close to. You're very annoying." I said and looked up at him.

"That's just because you don't like me yet. Once you like me I'll be a lot less annoying." He said.

"Wouldn't you want to be less annoying so I'll like you?" I asked and looked at him as we walked down the stairs.

"That's not how I do things." He said.

"Maybe that's why you don't have a girlfriend." I teased which made his jaw drop. I started cracking up at his reaction and could tell he was trying not to smile.

"That was the worst one." He said which made me laugh even more.

"It was the best one." I said as I recovered from my laughs. He just smiled at me and shook his head.
