Chapter 38

TESS:

I watched as my Dad walked back and forth in front of me, his eyes dangling with rage and fury. His secretary, Mike, was just watching him move back and forth, his body shaking with fear. I only find Dad's rage boring that it made me yawn.

I was still furious about him not making me stay at Rome for two days. I mean, come on! I wanna go boy hunting with Anya and Jamie. Plus, I didn't even get to talk to Jamie even longer and chat about how she got a jackpot of a husband.

"I can't believe this." Dad exclaimed as he furiously grabbed the side of his hair. I swear, if he does that, his hair will fall out when he gets old. "Why would she give that position to some kids. Worse, Stanley's kid! Worst, he'll be in charge until they freaking graduated at freaking Harvard!"

I only popped the gum that I was chewing. "Why do you hate Uncle Stanley so much?"

"Because he's got everything that I don't have!" He shouted at me. I only rolled my eyes in response.

"We've got money. We've got the fame. We've got cars. We've got dozens of maids and butlers. What else does he have that you don't?"

"Why you little...." He pointed at me menacingly. My fear of my Dad withered away a long time ago which is why I acted like this all the time when he's here. "I would ask you the same thing. Why do you like your Uncle Stanley so much?"

"Because he's nice and he actually lets his daughter go sightseeing in ROME." I said, emphasizing the word Rome. "Duh."

"But you have your own private jet." He shrugs. "You can travel all over the world for your entertainment."

"I would like that if I wasn't the only child in this family." I snapped. "Of course, I want my cousins to come with me. It would be boring if it's just me and those stupid bodyguards you hired."

He face-palmed himself then let's out a heavy sigh. "Where did you get your attitude from?"

"Look who's talking." I smirked then popped another gum.

He sighed in defeat and took a seat on his usual comfy chair. When I was young, he would tell me that when I grew up, I'll take over his company and sat in his comfy chair. Which is why I find him boring in the present.

There's this fact that he changes wives every year after Mom died cause of car crash. That even made my vision of my Dad dimmer.

"Hello boys." A voice interrupted the conversation. "Oh and hello Tess." I didn't need to look at that certain person because I already know who she is.

"Aunt Matilda." I muttered. "Where's Uncle Oscar?"

She gave me a sickening (in my vision) smile and gently ruffled my hair. "They stayed at Rome to play golf with Mason." She giggles then took a seat in front of me. "I only brought Michael with me."
