Chapter 49

GREYSON:

A long pause after that shocking turn of event. The girl in front of me was still grinning while I was gaping either because of her beauty or her sudden appearance. When Uncle Miller proposed a deal about marrying his daughter, I didn't know she would pop in front of me the very next day. 

"Stop it, Michael!" Jamie came to view with a hand roughly wiping her cheek. "What's gotten into you charging me like that?!"

"Oh come on." This guy, Michael fake whined. "You use to love my kisses." That made my head snapped towards their direction making a couple of crack sounds in the process. I gave her a questioning look but she just rolled her eyes in response. 

"I never knew you'd own a house this big. I thought you wanted something simple?" The 'Tess' girl smiled at my wife, dropping her bag on the couch beside me. 

"Dad bought the house not me." Jamie shrugged and abruptly stopped when she saw that her cousin wasn't looking at her but was looking at me. Her cool blue eyes were like those in the arctic that if you stare back at them, you might actually be trapped in an endless gaze. 

"Uh... you two know each other?" Jamie asked uncomfortably. 

"Actually---" 

"This is the first time I saw her." I interrupted and it's the truth. I cleared my throat causing the other guy to smirk at my direction. I stood up, walked towards Jamie and wrap an arm around her shoulder making her relax. "I didn't know we're having guests here but please." I sighed. "Make yourselves at home." 

Jamie smiled warmly at both people and gestured upstairs. "Want me to give you a tour of the house? 

"Gladly." Tess replied and grabbed her bag. Peaches was growling at her direction, obviously cause she doesn't like visitors. But Tess shrugged the pup's existence and was ready to follow Jamie. 

Michael, however, run past me and took a giant leap on the table and landed on the couch. In one swift move, the remote control is in his grasp and he began to flip channels on the TV. "Like the dude said." He smirked at me before shifting his sight on Jamie. "I'm making myself home." 

"Fine." Jamie sighed and turn her full attention on Tess. "Let's go upstairs now, shall we?" And with that, they were gone. Somehow I get the feeling that leaving Michael and I will cause something bad. Or maybe worse. 

"Are you just gonna stand there or what?" Michael smirked at me but his eyes were flaring with anger. Suddenly, I am starting to regret the words that I've said earlier.
