MY FATHER always told me that I am more lethal when I'm quiet, that even Satan will pee his pants off. People around me seemed to agree with him, but I sometimes don't. Why? Cause most of the time my temper got the better of me.

I consider that my silence is equivalent to the highest form of intelligence or a self impose awareness I developed over the years. I like assessing the situation first before reacting to it.

When I am calm, there's a chance that something or someone might survive. But now? I don't think so.

I am in between calm and destroying the fucking building. A rarity.

"Where is he?" Bungad ko kay Bob na alertong nakatayo sa labas ng conference room.

"He's with JM, Señor."

Nodding curtly at my second in command, I focus my attention on the man who's standing on my left. He lowers his head and straightens his back, conscious of the brewing storm I'm about to unleash in my path. Fortunately, it's him. If my men will see Romano's face now, they will surely know he screwed up. Big time. And in my books, I don't believe in fucking second chances.

Tang'na. Hindi ako si Lord or si John Loyd!

All I'm seeing now is a thick red mist swirling around and the need to shoo it away. My hand is itching to murder the man who's been a loyal soldier for me for almost twenty-five years.

"How long have you been with me, Rom?"

The sound Bob made on my right only added to the rage that's seeping from the pit of my black soul. Romano on the other hand was smart enough not to meet my gaze. His head remained lowered when he gave me his short response.

"Twenty-five, Señor."

"Indeed, twenty-five fucking years, Rom," I bridge the distance between us with two long strides. I let him feel my fury when I reached his nape and pulled him towards me.

"Apologies, Señor."

"I'll let this one pass. Do your job properly, Romano," my fingers dig deeper on the skin of his nape. The mountain of a man didn't even wince or show any sign that he's in pain.

"It'll be a shame to see one of my trusted men go, yes?"

"Of course, Señor. This will never happen again," he said while his hands were clasped on his front. He lowers his head a little more. "You have my word."

"Good," I let go of his nape, give him a soft tap on the shoulder then motioned the stairs to Bob.

"Keep your eyes open at all times, Romano. Guard her with your fucking life."

With purposeful strides, I head to the stairs, straight outside of the library where my wife is working her stubborn ass. That needs to be addressed one of these days, right now I need to release the seething rage to anything. Or, anyone.

"Señor," magkapanabay na bati nila Navarro at JM nang mamataan na papalapit ako sa black Dodge na prenteng nakaparada sa maluwag na parking lot ng university.

"Let's roll, boys," I order as I deposit my ass on the plush leather seat of the car. The hand that was shoved inside my pocket was clenched in a fist as I regard the dumbest man ever walked on Earth.

The reporter. The man who insulted Santy.

Ang kapal ng mukha niyang huminga kasama ko sa isang sasakyan. Nangangati ang kamay kong bunutin ang baril ko't ubisin ang bala noon sa katawan ng kaharap.
