In Lan Wangji's dreams, Wei Wuxian was always there. He was a past he wanted to forget, the person he despises, yet the truth of his love lingers over the years. Wei Ying was the charming sun on Lan Zhan's winter days, his memories were the light in the dimmest days Wangji had to endure without him.
However, waking up with his unmended heart will always be the most unkind reality Wangji had to face daily. Today, perhaps, isn't any better too.
Stirring from his sleep, near wakefulness, Wangji remembered the last few scenes of last night. Wuxian declared he was free to go back with Officer Jiang after the parting dinner they will all share in the villa.
Wangji didn't knew what Wuxian was hiding behind his sleeve.
A single toast. A single gulp of the least alcoholic wine. Wangji's head felt light, his consciousness quickly clocked out. What he vividly remembered was the playful smirk on Wuxian's lips and the hardened eyes which were robbed of its usual warmth.
Wangji internally seethed, looking at the devious man with fire in his eyes and intense mistrust. He crumpled backwards in an unsteady gait, helplessly succumbing to the sleeping pills stealthily put in his glass.
"Sleep, my Lan Zhan." Wuxian hummed, catching Wangji's body in his arms and planting a soft kiss on the latter's forehead as goodnight, before full darkness tucked Wangji away into oblivion.
With a slight shake of his environment, Wangji's bad dream came to its end. He woke up suddenly with an uncomfortable buzzing in his ears. His eyes roamed against the brightness of the morning rays, doubting and fearing how long he had been lulled to sleep against his will. His eyes widened in shock instantly recognising the cabin of a luxurious aircraft. The small window on the left of his king-sized bed displayed the cloudless blue sky and beneath him was the deep blue ocean of what he thinks was the Pacific.
Something exploded inside of Wangji, like the last piece of string snapping to unleash the evil within him. His body trembled in anger together with the roaring of the jet's engines.
He stood up, shaking his head to dissipate the residual dizziness in his head.
Few steps and the man who'd planned this humourless prank greeted Wangji with a deadpanned look. "I hope you had a good night sleep, Detective Lan." Wuxian briefly looked at Wangji, closing the book on his lap.
Wen Ning who'd discreetly watched his Young Master's actions grew goosebumps on his skin. This was the Wei Wuxian noone should provoke. The emotionally detached man whom Wen Ning can't even dare imagine what extent Wuxian could possibly do.
Wangji wavered a little hearing the way Wuxian uttered his name. It wasn't the usual soft 'Lan Zhan' he used to hear. There was a tingling in his heart, a little pain rooting from within, which made him want to clutch his chest. But he didn't. Wangji expertly knew how to control his emotions. He proceeded to show his rage instead of his weakness. "Where are we going? What am I doing here?!" He growled grabbing Wuxian's collar and pulling the man to stand on his feet.
"Sir, if you can please seat back down and buckle your seatbelt for your safety. We're landing soon." The passingby flight attendant cautioned.
Wuxian lazily looked at the woman, an unnerving dangerous stare, and she felt her knees buckling in fear. Wen Ning asked her to leave immediately, intervening between the two men while mentally praying for his salvation. "Detective Lan, please let us take a seat for now."
Baffled at how Wuxian behaves, Wangji's grip on Wuxian's collar slowly loosened. His eyes remained on the other, portraying hate, but behind the darkened orbs was an inquiry, a little worry of what made Wuxian change and turn this cold towards him. It was unconsciously hurting him and Wangji didn't like that feeling.

A/N:
Now it looks like Wuxian is becoming bipolar 😅Imagine the jet to be like this!
This is where Wangji was sleeping.
And this is where Wuxian was reading a book.On the further right is where Wen Ning sits, with the usual chair and table set up in cabins.
