34: Complete Happiness (Extra Chapter)

Wei Wuxian was confused looking at the unfamiliar surroundings.

Where he was...what date it was...what happened...he could barely remember.

He stiffly turned his head around and found his mom rocking something in her arms while cooing sweetly.

"M-mom?" His voice sounded hoarse, a mumble so soft, almost incomprehensible.

He tried once more to call her attention, trying to pull himself up but his body was stiff as a corpse, unable to cooperate.

Wuxian squeezed his eyes shut, attempting to recollect the last of his memories bring. His heart instantly ached remembering the hurt he had caused his most beloved man. Wet salts began pouring from his eyes and he whimpered unrestrainedly the raw pain off his chest.

His mother turned to him at last and a baby's cry was heard together with Wuxian's grievous bawl.

Poor Mrs. Wei was delighted to see his son wake up at last. She cried in glee, yet heart torn how to placate Wuxian's agony while also soothing the baby in her arms.

In the end, she did what she ought to do, placing the baby in contact with Wuxian atop his chest.

Listening to Wuxian's heartbeats, the infant stopped wailing and so did Wuxian who confusedly feel the little guy's presence which brought him inexplicable calm.

Mrs. Wei then sat on Wuxian's side, holding his hand, saying, "It's nice to have you back, my child. I was afraid this little mini-'you' will grow up without one of his fathers." She began, then continued telling Wuxian what had happened since the time he started sleeping.

Wuxian was pulled from his sadness and emptiness by this miracle bundle of joy. Wei-Lan Su, his baby with his Lan Zhan, gave him renewed hope.

Just by looking at him: Su'er's small smile that played on his tiny lips, the palest of skin he has, the rounded cheeks and those shining amber irises which he got from his other father, brings Wuxian emotional warmth and peace within.

He wanted to run back to Lan Zhan as soon as he had woken up and knew about their son. He knew Lan Zhan would be as happy as him. But he couldn't yet. His body was weak after a year and a half of being in coma. His muscles became redundant and has atrophied from prolong unuse.

Wuxian's desire to be reunited and form a family with his Lan Zhan became his motivation. Therefore, he persevered on his rehab and therapies.

Finally, after another year in Switzerland, his body come around gradually and he can talk, walk, and move without aid.

China had called for him at the same time. The news that their beloved bunny Wuji had passed away brought him instantly back to his mother land.

And it was on that very same day in the Wei's mausoleum that he had found his complete happiness once more.

"Lan Zhan."

This was written 12-Oct-2021!
Wuxian was comatosed when he bore Su'er in his tummy and gave birth to him.
It wasn't his intention to keep away from Lan Zhan for too long, but because he was in coma for a long time + the rehab time, it was over 3 years before he could finally go back to Lan Zhan.

There's another chapter coming!

Hoping it could be 'smooth like butter' and 'sweet like candy' !
