"Young Master! Please come back!" Voices pleaded as Wei Wuxian sped off ignoring their summon.

He was driving in a familiar slick road, confident steering and test-driving the newest addition to his Father's sports car collection. "This is exhilirating!" The young man chuckled while increasing his speed to two-fold. Oh how he loved the throttle, the power of its engine and its precision while drifting through the corners!

The sun started setting down in the far east. The red and gold rays colouring the sky and all below it into a new hue of a bold blaze. 'Magnificent!' Wuxian smiled, slowing down to appreciate nature's wondrous beauty. It was just supposed to be a normal dusk on a Friday evening, who knew one moment could change a lifetime and cross the stars of souls which will only be thwarted by fate in the future?

Loud honks of an approaching white car from the opposite lane had taken Wuxian's attention as he was turning into another sharp bend. It was coming fast to him. His reflex kicked in and he tried to dodge the incoming disaster, but the predestined eventuality took place as what fate had planned.

Amber eyes, wide in panic, captivated Wuxian sorely before a loud noise from the bad crash took him by surprise. There's a searing pain from a blow of a mangled metal on his head, warm blood trickling, shading his face in a gory deep red. He tried moving but his whole body ached in excruciating twinge and his limbs remained limp on his either side.

He blinked away fighting the grog subduing his consciousness. His blurring eyes looked ahead, searching for the mesmerising pale eyes. His world seemed to have stopped and a huge weight pressed and crushed his chest when he saw two bodies on his front: one lifeless, the other gasping for her last breaths.

His eyes glued at the owner of the amber eyes in the beautiful face he'd only seen once, nevertheless had already taken his full adoration. She was looking at him. "Sorry." She tried to speak, blood seeping from her mouth.

Wuxian saw a lone tear glistened and fell from her eyes but it disappeared as quickly as it has fallen, mixing with the gushing blood from a huge laceration on her forehead. She struggled to turn her head to look at the driver's seat on her side. "I love you." She spoke to the man and her eyes closed like the other.

That broke Wuxian's heart immensely and he started crying for her. For them.

'Help.' Wuxian's eyes watered. 'Help her.' He cried but his voice wasn't coming out. 'Help them!' His mind screamed but his body wasn't responding to his command.

'Help them. Please. Someone!'

"HELP!!!" Wuxian thrashed and strong arms encaptured his trembling body. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" He apologised profusely, almost like a mad man, while tears broke down his dazed eyes.

"It's just a dream, Wei Ying." Lan Zhan softly reassured, rubbing Wuxian's back compassionately while lightly kissing the other's forehead covered in sweat.

The kind gesture made Wuxian wail louder, his pain stuck farther in. He wished it really was just a dream and will be gone the moment he opened his eyes. But this lucid nightmare is carved deep within him for the past twelve years, haunting him throughout since the day it happened.

This is a nightmare that he keeps, a reality that he lives.

"You will regret this!" His Father's voice resonated in his mind. "You are not meant to be together! Can't you see how the stars are misaligned for you both?"
