Chapter 4: Ill be your Guide.

Izzy.

"Baby us sitting out in this parking lot is NOT going to get the answers you are looking for." My mom told me dropping me from the clouds. My mind has been gone for the past couple of days. A walking robot is all I have been. I grabbed my Latte from the cupholder and my mom grabbed hers and I stared over at her and said, "Come on. Im ready." I stepped out in my jean jacket, Coach shirt, rose gold cuban link. Coach cross bag and matching shoes. I took a deep breath and walked across the parking lot as I asked my mom, "What are you wearing? That dress is killing."

"Some boutique on Sunset&Vine." She told me as we walked up to the automatic glass doors of the Birthing center. We walked in and its was an entire different decor since the last time I was here.

"Lots of renovation I see." My mom said as I went over to the reception desk. The lady smiled with her red lipstick and spoke, "How may I help you honey?" I really hate terms of endearment.

"My name is Isaiah. I have an appointment with Doctor Ryder. I got my confirmation email." I told her as she typed away and chuckled, "not needed. Make the first left. His office is at the end of the hall. Ill alert him you are on the way to him."

I looked back at my mom and we headed down the hallway. I put a little pep in my step because now my nervousness has mixed with my anger and that was a bad combo. My mom whispered, "you aren't going to do any stupid. You will be locked up like your MJ. He robbed that white man with a gun and got 25 years"

"MOM I DONT GIVE A FUCK! This man may have lied and change the entire trajectory of my life for the past 17 years." I spazzed out as she grabbed my wrist and I turned to her.

"Gregg is still Cairo's father regardless of what the trust fact is. Gregg stepped up, gave up riches, jewels, and an entire kingdom to be Cairo's father. He raised him beside you for 5 years and gave you my beautiful granddaughter. Gregg is similar to your father in many ways...and yes we decided to live in bliss but your situation was better than Alternative. Because your bio dad was a what?"

"Maniac on wheels. I know Mom. Its different because Rome wouldn't have been my bio dad. He is a great man"

My mom scoffed, "Oh really? He left you as your body was still recovering from birth never to see you again after weeks and months of saying "whatever happens I am here" you and I both know if he would have put that ego and pride aside you would have left Gregg out to dry with him being Cairo's father. Because your heart was with him. Gregg knew that as well but what Gregg also knew was that Rome is a MAN's MAN. And his bruised ego will never let him raise another mans baby. Why you think Gregg gave it all up because he knew he would be your consolation prize which sucks because you were his Grand Prize." I stared at her as tears ran down my face and we both hugged as she rubbed my back and spoke again, "Its alright! I just want you to know Gregg loved you and you loved him and all the happy, sad, and sadder times meant something...regardless of Cairo's DNA test."

"Thanks Mom. And you are right if Rome wanted me he could have had me."

"Exactly!" She said as we held hands and walked up to the office door. I knocked three times and heard a voice say open. I walked in and saw a much younger man than the doctor that delivered my son.

"I-um was looking for Doctor Ryder but he looked about 50 when he delivered my baby...and you look not a day over 30." I told the tall dark and handsome man as he came around and shook my hand smelling of rich cologne. And was wearing a Richard Millie watch.

"I am actually 35 and the Doctor Ryder you are looking for is my father who is serving time in prison. He did some bad dealings when it came to this place and when he went away...I came back to save the family business. I saw your email inquiring a birth he done and I squeezed you in because he would do anything for a quick buck. As you can see" he looked behind him and showed us the 20 something boxes on the floors and his desk.
