Epilogue: A Letter from a Son to a Father.
Hello I am writing this letter because it's an assignment. We had to all choose somebody to be their hero. I know the person reading this is already thinking I am about to name some big shot celebrity that I never met...however I choose my dad. My dad is one of the best men I ever met and have taken care of me in ways that no one can understand. He shows me strength, courage , and give me the best advice any son can ask for. Even writing this is making me tear up because on thing for sure he always have my back. Both of them in my case. I am that lucky to have two men who care about me so much. I feel lucky that"
Knock
Knock
KnockThe 15 year old boy stopped typing and closed his laptop as the door opened slowly. He saw his 40 year old dad walk in. The two smiled at each other as the older one spoke, "get off the laptop and come down stairs. The party is starting. And your Aunt is here!"
The boy very happily smiled and said, "I'm coming tell my Aunt I'll be down soon...and wait can I ask you something."
"Sure. What's up?" His dad asked as he came in and sat down on the bed and the boy spoke, "How was it?"
"How was what son?" The father asked confused.
"How was growing up with 3 fathers in your life. I got two and it's amazing. I just can't imagine how having three was. You never really talk about growing up with me?" The son asked as the dad laughed, "That's a touchy story with some sad endings as you and I both know..even just recently. One day I would have the courage to tell you the greatest story of all—but you know it doesn't even start with me. It starts with your grandpa meeting this menace of a man in an alley way of his beauty bar."
"This is when Grandpa Izzy met PopPop Rome?" The boy asked as Cairo smiled and laughed, "Yes Yes Yes! Now if I get started we may miss the party. How about this after this art auction I can tell you the entire story."
"From the beginning? Like Volume 1?"
"It's no where else to begin. I think you are older enough and can understand the good, the bad, and the ugly. Now lets go before your dad blows as gasket, A'mir."
"When does A'Manuel not throw a fit!" A'mir said as he laughed and they walked out of the room and down the long way filled the pictures of the last 20 years.
"I'm so annoyed I didn't get to meet my great Grandma" he said staring at the photo of the family at her final Christmas before she died. She had only 2 more months before she could have met Baby A'mir Angel Rodriguez. The two went downstairs in he spotted his Aunt Adaijah in the kitchen as he ran over towards her.
"Slow down, A'mir." Cairo said as he felt a hand grab his on the left. He turned and saw his handsome husband. He leaned forward and they kissed as Manny spoke, "Everything is selling. Have you told started preparing
Him yet?""Uh no. We have 3 day to. After all this sells. We can pack up our lives here in Paris and go back home. Oakland here we come." Cairo said as Manny leaned down and kissed his lips.
"Wow how 2 years turned into all of this."
"You jinxed us. You said we were going to be here longer than expected. It was all worth it." Cairo said as he saw his assistant going crazy over in the corner by one of Cairo's art pieces. Cairo walked over to the sculpture of a rose and stated, "What's going on!?"
