"How much longer is this drive gonna take?", you whine as you take a deep breath.
"Shut up (y/n), that's the third time you're asking that in FIVE minutes", your sister hisses.
"Don't you have something better to do you piece of sh-""(y/n), thats enough!", your mother cuts you off. "We're almost there".
After a flight to Japan AND a 2 hour long drive with a cab, you were almost there: Sendai.
You and your family had to move because of your fathers job. You father is Japanese and your mother Canadian. It was pretty hard for you to leave your beloved friends and family behind. You had cried so much that you could save all of Africa with only your tears. The hardest thing was leaving your best friend Valerie behind. You had known her since you both were little kids and she was like a sister to you. But, you promised her you would be back. If it all turns out well, this move is only temporary. You also promised her you would call her when you had the time, because that's what best friends do, right?
Suddenly, the cab driver pulls over, stopping the car in front of your new house.
"I knew we were gonna move to some kind of huge ass house, but this shit looks bigger than I thought!", your sister yells.
"Maya, language!", your father hisses as he thanks the cab driver and hands him the money.
You all step out of the cab and the driver opens the back of the car to hand you your stuff.
You hear your father thanking him again and not much later, the yellow cab disappears.
"Well, shall we?", your mom asks.
You nod as you drag your suitcase across the street.
Your mom unlocks the door and enters the house first. You follow her, being the second one to enter the house. With open mouth, you stare at the interior of your new house. The living room is HUGE, with a really comfortable-looking sofa. The entrance hall resembles that of a mansion, with a staircase on the left AND right side. There is also a chandelier in the middle of the ceiling.
'Isn't this a bit too much?', you think.
The garden has a large lawn with a lounge set and the kitchen is adjacent to the living room.
"Can we see our rooms?", you ask your parents.
"Sure! Pick the one you like the most, okay?", your moms smiles. Then you notice your sister sprinting up the stairs with her suitcase, ready to claim the best room.
"Sucks for you, (y/n)!", she yells with a teasing tone. You roll your eyes as you walk up the stairs to pick your room too.
There are four rooms and Maya and you both have your own bathroom."What is this? A fucking hotel?", you mumble to yourself.
You enter the room on the left side as you gasp for air.
The room is beautiful and looks very cozy. There's a big closet to put in all of your clothes and the window has fancy curtains too. You walk over to the window and open it to see how high it is."Already planning on sneaking out?", your sister smirks as she leans against the doorpost.
"Like you didn't already check..", you say to her while rolling your eyes.
"Hm... I did indeed. But it's pretty high though. I don't think we should use that as an escape route".
Back in Canada, you and your sister always used your windows to sneak out and in. But these ones are way too high...
"We'll worry about that later. I'm going to unpack my stuff", you say to your sister.
"Yeah, me too".----------------------------------------------------
