Chapter 22: Almost time

Friday, the day before the tournament

You, Naomi, Maya, Aya and the team were all chilling at Tendou's place. All of you thought it would be a good idea to take a look at the different teams and what their strengths and weaknesses are. Rewatching some old matches was a part of the plan and it was very interesting to see how different all of the teams play. Some play offensively, defensively, aggressively or very sneaky.

You guys had watched Aoba Johsai, Karasuno, Date Tech, Johzenji High and many more other participants. Everyone was settled down on the sofa in front of the television. You were resting your head on Semi's shoulder while he had his arm placed on the back of the sofa behind your head. He sat slumped in the sofa and stroked your hair with his other hand.

"I can't keep my eyes open anymore", Aya groans. "We've watched so many matches already and you guys should head home early. You need to rest so you can properly play tomorrow".

"But there's like six DVD's left", Tendou whines as he holds the stack in the air, swinging it above his head.

"Aya is right, I need you all wide-awake tomorrow", Ushijima states, his inner captain showing up again.

"Can we go home too?", you whisper to Semi. A little smile appears on his face and he nods in agreement. "At what time do we meet tomorrow?", he asks Ushijima.

"Our first match is at 1 p.m. so I want you all in in front of the gym at 11 a.m", the captains replies. "We can't be late since we have to take the bus first".

"Are we allowed to come and watch?", Maya asks as she points to herself and Aya.

"Yeah, but you guys have to go by yourselves", Goshiki adds. "And you have to watch from the bleachers".

"Okay, we'll be cheering for you guys tomorrow then!", Aya happily yells as she jumps off the couch. "I'll be going home now".

"Yeah me too", Maya says. "You coming with me, (y/n)?"

"Hmm, no I'm going to Semi first", you answer. "I'll come home afterwards, okay?"

Your sister rolls her eyes while walking towards the hall so she can grab her jacket.
"I'll walk you home Maya!", Goshiki yells as he jumps off the couch too.

"Oh, you don't have to Goshiki. My house is not too far away from here".

"No, I insist. I want to talk to you anyways", Goshiki says as he grabs your sisters wrist, dragging her out of the hall. "We'll be going then! See you tomorrow!", he quickly yells before slamming the front door close.

Looking around, you see everyone staring at the hall with furrowed eyebrows. Tendou also has a little smirk planted on his lips
"Okay ... that's weird. Most of the time, Goshiki shits his pants when he talks to a girl like that", Ushijima says. He immediately gets a pillow thrown at his face by you. "Be nice to the poor boy, he obviously likes Maya", you snicker. "It's just new for him I guess".

"Well, I don't wanna ruin the fun here, but you guys should really leave now", Tendou says while putting the stack of DVD's back in the cabinet.

Everyone nods as they stand up from the couch, walking towards the front door.

"Get some good rest and let's beat the shit out of our opponent tomorrow, okay?", Tendou laughs while leaning against the doorframe.

"I am supposed to say something like that", Ushijima growls.

"Like you would ever use vulgar language like that", he teases while rolling his eyes.
"And you ... ", he mumbles, pointing towards Semi. "... you are going to behave tonight. Let (y/n) sleep at home. You both need to walk tomorrow".
