Wandering around the house, you search for Semi. It was more like zigzagging, actually. You were really confused about why he acted like this. Maybe he was just worried that you would get attached to Oikawa? Since Oikawa is known as a lady's man, he would probably just treat you like one of his flings. Maybe that's what Semi was worried about? You really had no clue.
After searching for a little while, you decided to walk upstairs. Watching every single step you took, you reached the end of the stairs in one piece.
"S-semi?", you whisper, but nobody answers.
Where the hell is that guy?, you mumble to yourself.
Then, you see a door ajar. On the door hangs a poster with Oikawa serving a ball. Does that jerk really have a poster on his door with a picture of himself? How fucking low can a person get?
You sneak towards the door so you can take a peek through the crack. To your surprise, Semi is laying on Oikawa's bed with an empty bottle in his hand. He's staring at the ceiling while his arm is dangling over the side of the bed.
Your eyes widen at the sight of the empty vodka bottle and you swing the door wide open. Did he really drink all of that? Semi glances up to you as he keeps laying on his back, showing no emotions.
You scoff and walk towards the probably drunk boy, snatching the bottle out of his hand.
"What the fuck Semi? Did you drink the whole fucking bottle?", you snarl at him as you put the bottle besides the bed.
He rolls his eyes, as he clicks his tongue out of annoyance.
"Why are you in Oikawa's room? He's gonna kill you when he finds out you're here", you say with your arms crossed while staring at the grey-haired boy.
"He won't", is the only thing Semi says.
"Why did you walk away in the first place? We were just playing a game and I really don't get why you're so mad! You're acting really-"
"Oikawa is my second cousin", Semi cuts you off as he pushes himself up so he can sit on the bed.
Oikawa is what now? That's a bit of a surprise. But that still doesn't explain Semi's behaviour, you thought.
"Okay, so?", you ask him. "What does that have to do with all of this?"
He gives you a blank stare and after a few seconds, Semi stands up from the bed, walking towards you. You were leaning against the doorway, still with your arms crossed. Semi stops right in front of you, which gave you chills.
"Let's just say we've got some family trouble", he says as he steps closer to you. You can now hear him breathing and to your surprise, it sounds calming.
"But he's only your second cousin. You don't see him that often, do you?", you wonder.
A disgusted look appears on Semi's face. It was almost like he was going to puke, just because of the thought of Oikawa.
"I used to... but I'm not going to tell you that story, so you can go. Leave me be", he growls as he tries to push you out of the room, but you keep standing in the doorway while giving him a stern look.
"I'm not leaving 'til you tell me why you're acting like this. I wanna hear that story too", you say to him.
He rolls his eyes as he sighs and he pulls you into the room. He closes the door behind you and guides you to a chair. You sit down and Semi takes his seat on the bed again. You lean against the back of the chair, giving him a sign to start talking.
He clicks is tongue before he starts talking.
"Oikawa and I used to go the same school before I went to Shiratorizawa. We also used to play volleyball together in junior high", he begins. "We both wanted to be the setter, but only one could be in the starting lineup. I guess you can already predict who ended up being in the starting lineup", he sighs.
You nod as you feel a bit sorry for the boy. You could clearly see that he was having a hard time while explaining the story to you.
"What happened after that?", you ask him with a curious tone in your voice.
"Oikawa was indeed a really good player, so many people were flabbergasted when they saw him serve at that age. Of course, that jerk got all the attention. Not only from the girls, but also from the coach and the other players. I felt like the coach totally forgot about me".
"Well he sure is an attention seeker", you hiss as you cross your arms again. "So what did you do? Did say something about it to your coach?"
His look now changes from the ground to your eyes. He sighs again as he continues his story.
"Yes, I did. I told him that I wanted to be in the starting lineup too, not just on the bench as I watched my teammates play. The coach only said that this was just the way things were and that I had to accept the fact that Oikawa was a better setter than me. He promised me I would get to play soon, but he didn't exactly keep his promise. I was always on the bench. Every single match".
"Semi... I'm sorry", you say as you stand up to take a seat next to him on the bed.
He flinches a little while you plop down on the bed.
"That's not all though. At the end of the year, some school offered me a scholarship. I was very surprised by their offer, because I never really played in any matches. Of course, Oikawa found out about the scholarship. Just a few days after I received the offer, I got a call. It was the school and they told me that they frankly had to withdraw the scholarship because they gave it to someone else".
Your eyes widen as Semi says that last sentence. You already knew which school it was and you also figured out who the scholarship got instead.
"It was Oikawa, wasn't it? Aoba Johsai offered you a scholarship and Oikawa managed to steal it from you right?, you ask him as you connect the dots.
He nods.
"He didn't really steal it. His parents bought it. His parents fucking bribed the school. Oikawa doesn't know that, but I found out while eavesdropping our coach back then".
How pathetic. How fucking pathetic.
"He's lucky he turned out to be a really good player...", you grumble.
"So that's how I ended up playing for Shiratorizawa. I know our team is higher in the rankings, but that doesn't change the fact that I hate the guy for what he did back then. And after he kissed you like that... I just couldn't watch him steali-"
Semi doesn't finish his sentence.
You furrowed your eyebrows at the boy.
"You couldn't watch him what?", you wonder.
He turns around to face you, staring into your pretty (e/c) eyes. A little smile appears on his face.
"Nothing. I just really, really hate the guy. I don't want him to have fun in any kind of way. He doesn't deserve it. I interrupted you two on purpose just to prevent him from enjoying himself. I'm sorry (y/n). I know this is really selfish", he lies.
This wasn't Semi's reason for interrupting you two at all. He just couldn't watch Oikawa stealing something from him again. But Semi only knew you for almost a week, so telling you that he may have feelings for you would be way too fast. It was probably just a little crush so it wouldn't last long. He had never liked a girl before and that's why he decided to lie. It was probably the hate for Oikawa that caused these feelings, Semi thought.
"Semi, I'm so sorry. It's not selfish at all, okay? You can be mad at him and I don't mind the fact that you interrupted us. I actually didn't want to kiss him anyways...", you smile as you grab his hand to comfort him a little.
Semi raises one of his eyebrows.
"Really? It seemed like you really liked kissing him", he teases.
"Oh so you're back to teasing again?", you giggle as you softly punch his arm.
You both laugh and chat a bit more for a little while.
"Hey (y/n)", Semi then says as he glances up to you.
"Hm?"
"I wanna go home", he admits.
You give him a little smile.
"Yeah, me too".
And so, the two of you sneaked out of the house, leaving the rest of the group behind without saying goodbye.
