Chapter 25: Future

time skip: 10 years later

"Ready to go?", you ask your 2-year old son while patting his head with a smile.

God, who would've thought...
Who would've thought that you would still love Semi as much as you did in high school.
Who would've thought that Semi would love you as much as he did in high school.

Almost exactly three years ago was one of the best days of your life.
The wedding.
The beautiful wedding Naomi, Aya and Maya had organized with you. Those two are really something else when it comes to weddings, you thought with a giggle. They had helped you pick out a dress, a weddingcake and of course the location and decorations. The wedding was held outdoors in a beautiful field of flowers that lay by a clear blue lake. You had never seen such a stunning landscape before and you felt so honored to have your wedding there.

Of course, Naomi, Aya and Maya were the bridesmaids. They already wanted to be your bridesmaids back in high school, so you had no choice but to keep your promise...
you wouldn't have wanted anyone else for those positions either.

Tendou was Semi's best man. Those two have always kept in touch after high school, so this was no surprise for you. They also kept in touch with Ushijima, who is now a professional volleyball player and part of Japan's National Team. That guy keeps getting better and better, it's impressive. The three of them are still very close and often call each other to catch up a little.

Ushijima has a girlfriend named Sara, but they have no kids yet. You've met Sara before, and you could see that they were perfect for each other. She's always there to support him and you really respect that. She's a good person and Ushijima should be thankful to have a girl like her by his side.

Tendou and Semi had stopped playing volleyball after high school. They both went to college and now, Tendou works as a chocolatier and has a shop in Paris. Tendou has a girlfriend too, Himari is her name. Unfortunately, you don't see them much often because they live in Paris, which is basically on the other side of the globe.

And then there's Semi. Eita Semi, your handsome and loving husband who you couldn't live without. He works as a civil servant, so he has to wear a suit most of the time. You don't mind that at all, because it makes him look even more handsome.

Two years ago, you guys had been blessed with a beautiful babyboy, Reo. He has exactly the same hair colour as his dad, but he definitely has the same eyes as you. He's such a sweet boy and is obsessed with his little nephew, Riku. He's Maya's and Goshiki's son and only a few months old. So much has changed since you guys graduated from high school ...

"I want to see uncle Ushiwaka play!", Reo excitedly yells. That comment only makes you smile even more.

"If only your father would hurry up a little ...", you grumble as you look at your watch.
What the hell is that guy doing?

"Is uncle Tendou coming too?", the little boy asks, clearly hoping for you to say 'yes'.

"Of course he is! He will wait for us at the entrance of the gymnasium", you reply.

Today, Ushijima had to play at the Olympic Games 2021 and you received tickets to watch the match against Brazil. Tendou and Himari flew over to watch the match with you guys and you honestly couldn't wait to see them again.

"I'm done!", you hear as you see Semi walking down the stairs while buttoning up his shirt. He gives you a kiss on your cheek and then lifts up Reo in his arms to give him a fist bump.

"Are you ready to see uncle Ushijima play?", Semi asks as he kisses Reo's forehead.

"Yes! Yes i want to gooooo!"
