The subways had not changed their tune at all overnight, they were still busy and bustling as ever. Salarymen dragging their shackled briefcases at their side as they trudged their way into the mundane everyday. Along with them came the students out to enjoy some of their free time; friendship groups going out to enjoy shopping, or to visit arcades; young couples hoping to find respite in the suburbs for a quiet and peaceful day together.
F/N watched them pass by, moment by moment. How all these busy little lives had their own stories to tell, how each person had their own unique twist to their walks, how the friends would laugh together and how the couples held their hands clasped tightly together. F/N peered down at her own hands, suddenly feeling that they felt more empty than they ever had before, until a soft, unloved, hand clasped it in their own. F/N looked up to the man who had occupied the space.
Akechi brought F/N's hand down the both of their sides, giving a soft smile to the girl. "Is everything okay? You were drifting away just now." He gave her hand a small squeeze as he came around to stand in front of her. "Is it that again? If it is, I can cancel the plans with Kitagawa-."
Before he could finish his sentence, F/N brought a finger to his lips to silence him, giving him the sweetest smile she could muster up. "Everything is fine, Goro." Her hand moved from his lips to cup is cheek in the palm of her hand, Akechi was silenced all the same. "Besides, I get to spend more time with you whilst we wait," she chuckled, stroking his cheek softly, to which Akechi closed his eyes and leaned in to, before letting her hand drift down to rest on his shoulder.
Akechi, now adorned with a slight pink tint to his cheeks, giddily giggling under the soft touches of his girlfriend. Though, catching his breath, he opened his eyes to gaze at F/N. "I must warn you though, he can be a bit... eccentric," he sighed, rubbing his thumb over her knuckles soothingly.
"Oh, I'm sure it will be fine, I'm dealing with far worse than a little eccentricity right now," F/N determinedly explained, shooting a confident but shaky smile to her boyfriend. Akechi could only smile at the enthusiasm of his girlfriend, noting how she obviously couldn't remember the... 'previous' times that Yusuke had asked to paint them together. Not wanting to cause any further alarm to F/N's health, he mentally prayed that it wouldn't be a repeat of previous requests from Yusuke.
His attention was brought back when a draft passed by the couple, causing F/N to shiver slightly. Since F/N didn't have access to her own wardrobe that day, and not wanting to sift through his mother's clothing, Akechi had decided to lend her some old clothes of his, though the majority of clothing was far too big for F/N's frame, which resulted in her wearing one of his shirts as a makeshift dress, whilst using some leggings F/N had tucked away in her bag as spare clothes for her job. His spare jumper vest wasn't doing much to keep her warm in the middle of winter, and Akechi knew that.
Slipping his suede coat off his shoulders, he placed it over F/N's with the intention of keeping her warm. "Here, you need it much more then I do," he smiled, claiming F/N's hand back into his own. "I don't want you getting any more sicker than you already are, and I guess it's my fault that you're in this state at the moment," he trailed off, averting his gaze from F/N's.
F/N pulled the coat over her arms, enjoying the warmth that it provided thanks to Akechi. "Thank you, Goro," she smiled, before leaning into his chest for a small discreet hug, nestling her face into his green plaid sweater. "It's not your fault though, please remember that," she pleaded, her voice muffled by how buried she was into his chest. Akechi lightly wrapped his arms around F/N, pulling her in to provide her with extra warmth. One of his hands found itself softly stroking her hair, in a soft yet thankful way.
Passers by would shoot a little glance at this public display of affection, though since it was harmless and not bothering anyone else within the vicinity of the area, they would walk on without comment, much to the couples pleasure. After a while however, Akechi decided to break their soft embrace, as he felt his phone vibrating. Fishing out his phone from his pocket, he could see the alarm that he had set for the meetup time was sounding like crazy.
