The hustle of the city rarely quietened down, especially when it came to the twisting corridors below. Salary men dressed in their sharp suits were constantly coming and going, their briefcases swinging lazily from their hands and often colliding unapologetically into some poor passers-by legs. Today wasn't being so kind to F/N, as she'd been hit by no more than 5 of these silent assailants as she walked with Akechi to the platform they needed, his hand tightly gripping her own.
The platform had been no better either, it was crammed full of people hoping to make their journey in peace, though the subway carriages that rolled along begged to differ. Sardines wasn't even enough to describe what F/N was witnessing at this moment, there was barely even enough room for someone to exhale their breath normally, let alone having their intimate space invaded by multiple different strangers.
"Ah, this probably isn't the best idea, now that I think about it," Akechi remarked, giving F/N's hand a slight squeeze. "Given your current condition and all."
F/N turned her gaze towards Akechi, noticing how his gaze was fixed ahead of them but ever so slightly downcast, observing the trains that rolled by.
Wanting nothing but to reassure him, F/N squeezed his hand back and shot him the best smile she could muster. "As long as you're here, I'm sure I'll be fine Goro."
F/N's remarks caught Akechi off guard, his interest moving from the trains to his girlfriend standing proudly by his side. Her smile pierced through his heart like a needle, it felt like it had been ages since he last saw her smile quite like that, it made his heart feel like it was bubbling from all the warmth emanating from within him. Oh, if he wasn't in a public area right now, he would love to smother her with all of his feelings, making sure she knew how intoxicated he could be with her.
Though right now he just settled for a slight smile and another squeeze of the hand in response. The crowds walked on by, unacknowledging of the silent conversation the two were having, as they were too engrossed by their own desires to care about those who surrounded them in that current time, whether they truly needed attention or not.
As yet another crammed train rolled away from the platform both Akechi and F/N were standing at, two women approached the couple: one with short dark brown hair that was tied back with a braided headband; the other had long silver hair that was swept over one shoulder, hair pins adorned the opposite side of her hair.
"Akechi-kun, it's unusual to see you here," the silver haired woman exclaimed, here gaze flicking between the couple, "You have company as well? I'm not sure we've been acquainted before."
"Sae-san, what a surprise," Akechi remarked, whatever expression he was wearing dulled in comparison as to what he was showing F/N before. He took a step backwards, in turn spotlighting the attention on F/N who was now standing in front of him. "I don't think you've met my... my girlfriend before, but I'll let her introduce herself." Goro shot F/N a reassuring smile, which let her relax a little as she knew this woman could be trusted.
"I'm L/N F/N, as Goro said I'm his girlfriend. It's a pleasure to meet you." F/N bowed to the woman knowing that this was someone to be respected if Akechi was using honorifics with her.
"Oh, there's no need to be so formal L/N-san," the woman remarked, slightly taken aback by F/N's politeness. "Anyway, I'm Niijima Sae. I used to work with your, uh... boyfriend, back when I was a prosecutor,"
"Ah, of course. I had forgotten that you're a defense attorney now. It feels almost like yesterday that I was mulling through cases with you," Akechi lightly chuckled, though his expression didn't fully match the action he was portraying.
"Sis seems to be doing quite well for herself nowadays," the brunette girl remarked, a calm smile rolling onto her face before turning her attention towards the couple herself. "Though you two also seem to be doing well together too," she spoke, crossing her arms slightly as if to comfort herself from slight jealousy at something she had yet to experience herself.
