A golden hue had cast itself over the entire classroom as the sun started to set on yet another busy school day, thanks to winter jut around the corner, the days had been getting increasingly shorter. Some students had started gathering around their friends' desk, in discussing their plans for when they leave, whilst others were cleaning up the classroom in the hopes that they could get away sooner than later.
F/N had helped with cleaning the blackboard, at the front of the class, of all the drawings students had doodled on the board. Whilst cleaning, F/N couldn't help but overhear some gossiping girls nearby.
"The Phantom are totally the best!" one girl snickered, "That 'Detective Prince' has no idea what he's talking about."
F/N subtly turned her gaze to the girls, both intrigued and disgusted about the girls 'criticism'. Her head felt light and hazy before swiftly snapping back to what was happening.
"Haha, I know right!?" another girl started, struggling hard to hide the disgusting smirk plastering itself across her face. "Maybe we should pester him when we see him!" she laughed.
F/N's grip tightend on the cloth she currently held in her hand, turning her gaze back to the board so that she didn't have to endure seeing their faces for a second longer.
"I heard he goes to a run down looking cafe in Yongen," another girl whispered to her group, her voice occasionally cracking from her pathetic laughter "I thought he was above crappy cafes, you know? Like, he's always posting fancy things on his page, but he goes there!?". The girls then started laughing, discussing their cruel plans on how to harass this 'Detective'
F/N, deciding she'd heard enough from the girls, threw the cloth she was holding onto the teacher's desk, grabbed her bag and ran out of the room, she could hear the distant laughter of the girls, knowing that it was intended at her, though she couldn't recall why.
Her thoughts were knocked back to reality as she bumped into someone whilst attempting to fly down the stairs, knocking both of them back onto the floor. Looking up, she saw a familiar boy, an underclassman of hers, though she could not recall his name as he looked up to see who the culprit of the collision was.
"Oh F/N, it was you," the boy spoke as he brushed himself off and picked himself off of the ground, a large portfolio like bag laying on the ground by his feet, seemingly knocked out of his hand by the collision. Instead of picking the bag up, he offered his hand to help F/N up. "Did something happen?"
'No emotions escape him, do they?' F/N thought as she took his hand and pulled herself up. "You could say that," she smiled wryly, looking down at the portfolio laying on the floor. "I'm sorry for not looking where I was going ..., I could've ruined your art."
To this, the boy waved his hand in the air, dismissing any guilt that F/N may have placed over herself. "I've been in a slump recently," he grimaced as he leaned down to pick up the bag, "I was just heading to Leblanc to seek inspiration for next piece, perhaps you could accompany me, F/N?"
'Leblanc... Why does that name sound so familiar?' F/N pondered, before looking back to the boy, whose expression was turning more and more downcast the longer he waited for a response. Not wanting to keep him any longer, she agreed to his request.
The streets they walked down seemed so familiar, yet foreign. Her feet seemingly knew these pathways well as they carried her towards their destination which sat in a narrow street away from the crowds of every day Tokyo. Thanks to the quiet streets, F/N could rack through her brain on trying to recall who the boy walking next to her was. Perhaps they went to the same club together at school at some point? She must know them well if he's comfortable to refer to her by her first name? That, and he stands out like a sore thumb compared to most people in Kosei, his height and the colour of his hair were both uncommon for a start...
