Artemis
"Vlad. How is Vlad here?!" I was screaming over and over in my head. "Vlad and Marcus is here Caroline, Vlad and Marcus are here! They're going to take us by back to Shining Cosmos and torture us!"
"Okay, okay calm down, everything's gonna be okay, mindlink Dimitri and tell him that Vlad and Marcus are here," Caroline said.

Following Caroline's instructions I mindlinked Dimitri, or at least trued to. The communication was blocked off. Perfect. I decided to mindlink Bria instead. If I could tell her Marcus is here, she'll tell Dimitri, hopefully they could get here in time before the sadistic bastard could do anything stupid. Like drag me back to that hell.

"Bria, Bria are you there?" I asked in the mindlink.
"Artemis where are you? Everyone is looking for you, Dimitri had organized a search party, are you alright?" Bria's voice came on, worried, pained, frantic.
"Bria I'm in the forest, Marcus and Vlad are here," I told her.

"WHAT? ARTEMIS WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SOMETHING EARLIER!"
Her voice was earsplitting in my head.
"He just got here Bria, tell Dimitri, please I'm scared," I said.
"Okay don't worry we're coming now. Dimitri is going to be pissed," sge declared. "Sit tight we're coming."

"Okay they're coming we just need to sit tight, they're on their way," I told Caroline who was currently pacing the floor, clearly agitated by Marcus and Vlad's unsettling presence. Just then Marcus suddenly shifted and I blocked my eyes. I was not going to see him naked no way in hell.

"You can look my little rose, this body is all yours. Look at it to your heart's content," he said in a cocky voice.
"In your wildest dreams. Arrogant prick," I said disgustedly.
"Sadly I can't mindlink you, so if you'd be so kind as to shift do I can speak to you, and gaze at your beautiful body," he said.

I turned to glare at him and saw that he was wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Did he pull those out of thin air or something?
"Shift please Caroline, I'd like to see my mate in person," Marcus approached Caroline and bent down to touch her head but she shunned away and growled threateningly.

"Now, now don't be like that sweetheart," Marcus waved his finger in my face and tsked. As though I were a pup in need of discipline.
"I have a dress here for you, shift now," he said in a more serious tone. "Don't make me have to hurt you, shift now!"

Caroline growled again and backed away. She was just about to run past him but hearing the click of a gun, we stopped.
"I have a pistol here and it has silver bullets, one bullet to the heart and you're dead in a few minutes. Shift," he demanded.
Caroline eyed the gun in his hand and whined sadly.

"Shift Caroline, Marcus doesn't bluff you know that! Shift okay? At least if I'm in my human form I can talk to him and stall until Dimitri gets here," I said frantically.
Caroline wasn't happy with Marcus seeing me naked. There was a bush behind us, an ideal place for us to shift.

Marcus pulled out the dress when we had shifted and tossed it to me. I looked at it and was surprised to see it was a red sundress and not the asylum dress he forced me to wear in Shining Cosmos.
I quickly pulled it over my head and stepped out from behind the bush. I saw Marcus standing there and all I could feel anger and resentment boil up from the center of my being.

"You look beautiful my rose, how I've missed you," he said this in such a sweet voice it was practically dripping with caramelized fakeness. Just another thing he my mother and Natalie had in common. They were fake, indecent, dishonest and monsters each in their own special way.
