Hi, hi, hi!!! It's been such a long time since I've last updated The Protected Luna and for that I am so very sorry. My life has been so damn hectic these past few months. Studies and family issues have been the perpetual stumbling blocks in my path, always making me trip and fall flat on my face.

And don't get me started on the WiFi!!! 😤😤😤

Anyway, here is the new chapter, I hope you guys enjoy it.

Dimitri

"What do you mean you can't track her?!" Lucias yelled.
"I mean I can't track her. Presha always cleans up after herself, never leaving behind any breadcrumbs. I can't track her if I don't know know where to start looking," Marguerite said patiently.

"If you had a sample of Artemis's blood could you track her instead?" I asked hopefully.
"I can narrow it down at best," she replied. "It pains me to say it, but there's no guarantee that we'll find her alive. My sister is clearly unstable at the moment and if she gets an inkling that I'm looking for her, she may do something drastic to Artemis."

"You fools. Did you really think you could stop me from getting what I want?" Rupert sneered. "I've spent eighteen years planning this day. Did you honestly believe you could come charging in here like superheroes to save your sweet little Luna? Pathetic!"

"Zip it you old geezer! You're giving me a migraine!" Marcus snapped. "And that dumb bitch Presha. How dare she leave me here while she went off with my Artemis?"
"Artemis isn't yours, she's mine," I said angrily. "And when I get her back I'll personally see to it that you pay for your crimes."
"Oh? And what are you going to do Dimitri? Kill me?"
"No Marcus, I'm not going to kill you. After the abominable things you've done, the death sentence will be far too lenient."

"After what he's done to Artemis he doesn't deserve the freedom that comes with death. He needs to suffer," Bria said coldly.
"I second the motion," Alessandro scoffed.
"Name the time and place and I'll be there," Kennedy added.

"Would you listen to that. The three musketeers banding together for Artemis. If it's not too much trouble, I'd like a hot poker to gouge my eyes out," Adeline said contemptuously.
"Be quiet, you piece of trash! Or I'll cut your tongue out and make you swallow it!" Selena threatened.
"Threatening violence Selena? How unbefitting of you."

"Shut up Adeline," Lucias said abrasively as he walked past her and approached Marguerite. "What do you need in order for the locator spell to work?"
"I'll need some of Artemis's blood, a map of Romania and six candles," she requested.

After searching the terrace I managed to retrieve the vial that contained a few drops of Artemis's blood and handed it to Marguerite. There was a map of Romania in the study so Kai brought it up and spread it out on the floor. Marguerite lit the candles and tilted the vial over the map, letting the blood drip onto the paper.

"Animos supplex peto, ut me in conatu adiuvent. Illam quaere, monstra mihi viam,"

Within seconds of speaking the incantation, the droplets of blood began to move northwards. But then it went in three different directions and stopped moving altogether. Marguerite opened her eyes and glanced down at the map. "Hmm, clever girl."
"What is it?" I asked. "Do you know where Presha took Artemis?"
"Everywhere the blood gathered is where Artemis has been. It appears she's moved her three times to throw us off."
"So there's no sure way of finding out her exact location?"
"I'm afraid not."

"There are three locations, I say we split into groups and search each location and the surrounding areas for Artemis," Kai suggested. "Dimitri can go with Bria, Alessandro and Marguerite, Kennedy, Varun and I can go with Ramona and Lucias can go with three other vampires. Take a picture of the map and share it to everyone's phones so we'll know where to look."
