It's eight in the morning. I pull on my regular work clothes and head downstairs. I feel enthusiastic and cheerful like never before. Everything seems to look right in my life now. Besides industry, I've got one more reason to wake up every morning and that is Jen. What she must be doing right now? When does she leave for work? Let's just text her and see. I take out my phone and start texting her,
"Good morning beautiful."
My beautiful girl.
It's not even a minute and there's a ping on my phone. It's her,
"Morning handsome."
Just a text from her made me smile. What is happening to me? I text back,
"What u doing?"
"Getting ready to go to work."
Work. How about I drop her at work today? That's how I can also get to see her and spend some time with her. Yeah, good idea. I text her,
"What time you leave for work?"
"8:30."
Shit! It's only twenty-five minutes left. It will take me fifteen minutes to reach Wilshire, only if, I leave now. Yes I should leave now. I won't text her anymore. I want to surprise her. I leave her text on seen and leave. I ask Victor to drive fast every five minutes. I know I'm annoying him but I don't want to be late.
Instead of fifteen, I reach Wilshire in twelve minutes. I made it. Thanks to Victor. I wear my shades and climb down of my car. I go and stand at the main gate of the building. She should be here anytime. As I wait for her I go in a flashback. How I was waiting for her last night and then she comes, wearing red, making my dream come true. I snort. I glance at my wrist watch and it's time.
Where is she?
..............
After getting out of the elevator on the ground floor, Jennifer remembers that she has not booked the cab yet. She sighs with exasperation. She's going to get late for work today, Jennifer assumes. She curses under her breath. She takes out her phone to book a cab and walks out of her wing and towards the main gate. She catches a glimpse of the main gate and focuses back on her phone and again she briskly lifts her head up, scrutinizing the gate.
Her jaw drops and her eyes wide open with surprise when she sees Brendon standing there. She blinks twice, thrice to make sure she's not dreaming or hallucinating. But she's not. He's there for real. Her steps slows down. She can't stop herself from checking him out. He always looks handsome in whatever he wears but today Jennifer admits to herself that he's ridiculously hot too. His toned and sculpted body is sticking out under his olive green shirt. His dark brown hairs shines under the rays of the sun. And the shades are complimentary. Her heart starts to race as it always does whenever she sees him.
She strides towards him and reaches him. She instinctively smiles looking at him. He smiles and takes off his shades,
"Hi."
"What you doing here?" She really didn't expected that she'll get to see him this soon.
"I came to see you," He leans in and kisses her. He draws back and ease her hairs behind her ear, "I'll drop you to work today. Come."
He takes her hand and leads her to his car.
"Where do you work?" He queries.
"LA's Independent Publishing."
He nods and helps her get in the car.
"Your workplace is close to Wilshire. How do you usually go to work? I mean you walk or....." He ask, once they're on their way.
