After a little chit-chat with Jen, Angela leaves for her work. Just then the lady comes in with a platter of breakfast. She sets the overbed table and places the platter on it.

"You got to finish all this," the lady tells Jen pointing at the platter. "You need to have some energy for the further treatments."

Jen nods and says, "thank you." The lady smiles and starts to set a plate. "I'll...I'll take care of it. Thank you," I say and take the plate from her. She has already done enough. "Alright, then," she leaves things onto me and goes. Jen sits and takes off her nasal ventilator and watches me set her a plate.

There's pancakes, toast and cream cheese, some fruits and a glass of orange juice. I set a plate nicely and move the table close to her. "Here is your breakfast," I say and look up at Jen, where I find her already gazing at me. "What?" I ask softly.

"Did you eat anything?" Jen asks.

"Yes," I lie. I cut a piece of pancake and try to feed her, but she holds my hand and doesn't take a bite. I frown.

"But it doesn't look like. Don't lie to me."

"I'll have it later. You need to eat first," I bring the forkfull of pancakes close to her mouth but still she doesn't takes a bite. "I'll have it only if you eat with me," she keeps a condition.

I click my tongue, "I told you, I'll have it later. Angela has brought things for me to eat. I'll have some from it later."

"No," she snaps. "You have it now with me, or I'm not eating anything." Jesus Christ! This girl has a stubborn streak. "Fine," I sigh. I get up and take the waffles from the bag and take a bite in front of her. "Happy?" I ask and sit besides her. She eats the forkfull of pancakes and smiles. I shake my head. What am I going to do with her? I smirk by the thought. We continue having our breakfast together.

"My mother's coming to visit you today. And your parents will be here by evening," I tell Jen.

"Hmm. Did y'all.... tell my parents about my condition?"

"No. Not completely. They only know that you're sick and in the hospital. We'll tell them the whole thing when they're here."

"I don't know how are they going to react when they'll see me like this. My mom will definitely start crying." Jen mutters. I don't say anything.

Once Jen's done having her breakfast, I shift the table away from the bed. "You're not going to work?" She asks.

"No."

"Why?" She furrows her brows.

"How can I leave you alone here? Last night, I saw you in the most terrifying situation. What if it happens again?"

"I'm not alone. There are nurses and doctors here. They'll come if anything happens." She leans back on the head of the bed that's raised up.

"Yeah..... they'll come only if they hear the emergency bell, and that's only possible, if you'll be in your senses to buzz that bell behind"

She inhales deep and says, "I'm just saying that......you don't have to skip your work for me." I sit beside her, take her hand and kiss her palm. "There are some people in the industry, who'll handle everything, so there's nothing to worry about. And besides, that's not important right not. You mean more to me than anything else. Once you get well, everything will get back to place."

"Don't.....don't love me so much, that it'll hurt you later," says Jen. I stand up as soon as those words let's out from Jen's mouth. Fear and anger gushed in me as she spoke. How can she even say such thing?
