I hold her both hands and inhale deep. Jen looks straight at me, into my eyes, with her beautiful smile. Shit man! This is so tough. But I'm going to do this. So, here it goes.

"This whole place, is the place where we met for the first time. And here, in this lower backyard, we had our first unintentionally date..." Jen giggles.

"...and then I wanted to kiss you so bad..." I snort, replaying that moment in my mind. "Those moments are unforgettable. But, that day, I didn't know.....that one day you would mean so much to me, that you'll become my world. You complete me, Jen. Sometimes I wonder, is there even a life after you or not. And I don't want to live without you, even if I can. "

She looks at me with soft eyes and gentle smile on her face and her head is tilted a little bit. I take a step back, taking out the ring box from my jacket and with full courage, I get down on one knee. Jen catches her breath.

I open the box, and hold it up to her. "I love you, Jennifer. I want you to me my wife, and I want to love you and only you for the rest of my life. Marry me, Jen."

Her eyes wells up a bit, and her smile is already giving me my answer. But still I want to hear it from her.

She exhales, with a snort and nods, "Yes...I'll marry you." Jen grins.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I did it.

I quickly take out the ring from the box. "Give me your hand," I say and she holds her hand out for me.

I put the ring on her finger. And great! It perfectly fits her. I stand up and I can't stop gazing her hand, the ring on her finger. I glance at her and there she's already looking at me, with her hazel eyes--- that bewitches me everytime I look into them. And that smile on her face, always drives me crazy. She kisses me, giving her everything to me. All her love, her hand in mine, all of her--- not just for now, but for the rest of our life. I caress her jaw and kiss her back.

Jen! My girl. The love of my life.

She pulls out. "I can't believe this," she says, astonished and overjoyed.

"Believe it, we are getting married," I tell her, and she puts her arms around my neck and sticks her body against mine.

"I love you so much," she whispers, looking deep into my eyes.

"I know. And I love you too," I say, softly and she smiles gracefully.

I don't want to end this moment we are having right now, but I'll have to. "Let's go up. Everybody's waiting for us," I tell her. "Come." I take her hand and walk to the steps.

"Grandparents was just an excuse, huh?" She gives me a sly look.

"Yeah..." I grin. "But it's true that they wanted to meet you. So I thought, today would be the best day to do that."

She hums. And as we reach the upper landing of the stairs, everybody starts cheering and clapping loudly.

"What? You called my parents too?" Jen murmurs.

"I wanted to celebrate with our whole family," I tell her. Her expression goes emotional, but there's joy too at the same time.

We hand in hand, stride towards them all. My parents and Jen's parents comes forward.

"Jennifer!" My mother holds Jen's face in her hands. "Welcome to the family, darling." Mom hugs her.

"Thank you." Jen hugs back.

"I'm so happy for you both," mom says, placing her palm on my face.

"Mama!" Jen mumbles and hugs her mother and then goes to her father. "My baby!" James embraces Jen. "Always be happy, you both," Cynthia wishes us.
