Its 10 in the evening, and Jen is already fast asleep. The medication still has some effect on her. While I'm sitting on the sofa, restless and have no clue about things that are going on with me. After three years, Sophie wants to come back in my life. I waited for a whole year, expecting that she would realise her mistake and will come back, and I also thought that I would forgive her as well. That's how much I loved her. But she didn't come back and there she's writing me that I forgot everything easily. She doesn't get to say this. She doesn't know how much it affected me seeing her with another man that day and both shamelessly laughing at me. She calls herself my first love--- infact she didn't deserve my love at all.
She was a mistake and I don't repeat my mistakes again.
I wish I met Jen instead of Sophie. Things would be so different. No mistakes, no betrayal, no heartbreak. I glance at Jen, sleeping on the bed. Look at her, so pure and lovely. How can someone not fall in love with her. And suddenly I'm reminded of the last letter of Sophie, which I left half unread. I move from the sofa and without making a sound I take out the letter from the drawer. I look at Jen--- she's in a slumber. Good. I take it out from the envelope and it read,
I know you're in love with your 'now' girlfriend. Jennifer, right? But me, I was your first love, how can you forget your first love so easily.
If it's Jennifer that's stopping you to think about us, then I can talk to her and ask her to get out of our way. I only need a word from you to do that.
I hope I hear from you soon.
Yours truly,
S.No fucking way. She shouldn't have dragged Jen into this. Jen's meddling between us--- no, Sophie is the one who's coming between us. I need to get rid of her before she reaches Jen. First I need to know how this letters reached here.
I go to the staff quarters outside, that's adjacent to my house, with the letters in my hand. I knock and one of the security guard opens the door. I ask him to call Victor and Martha and so he does. I wait for them outside and they come out.
"Any problem, sir," Victor asks me.
"Yes. I want to know, who dropped this letters here?" I ask them both, with a commanding tone.
Victor hesitates and doesn't look me in the eyes. But Martha tells me, "Victor gave me those letters, and asked me to give it to you."
I look at victor and frown, "what is it Victor? Who sent this letters?"
I know these letters are from Sophie, but did she, herself came here to give or sent someone else?
"Sophie Miller, she was here...."
I knew it.
"....she wanted to see you, but you weren't here, so she left. And then again, a day later, she comes and asks to see you. I told her you're not at home, so she forced me to call you. I did but you're phone was switched off."
"When was this? When did this all happened?"
"It was Sunday, sir--- your birthday."
"Then what happened?"
"Then she left when I told her that your not answering the call. Two days later, she came here continuously for three days, and on each day she would hand me a letter and leave. Also on the third day, she asked me if Ms. Diaz is in here."
