Oh to be the taste of immortality

And not be able to taste it yourself

They slurp you up and use you 'til you're gone

The gods and the dwarves and every elf

Prized for your beauty above all, they cheer

And yet they use you for their own desires

For though they say they all deserve it in some way

I have heard many mortals call them liars

I fuel them through my mere existence and yet remain a second thought

As if they are the reason for their own immortality

Above all and them, I will sing songs of praise for the mortal slaves

Who toil in the dirt and thrive through the gods' immorality

The earth will one day give way and though I will go, they will soar

And the gods and all immortal shall fade away and eventually be no more

All the mortals hail and praise my name for though I am but a taste,

Immortality itself shall call the names of the ones gone long before
