"I haven't seen and talked to him in like 3 months, Jiyoung!"

"Stop beating around~ It's Christmas! And he's your dad! You don't need to practice your approach!"

Jiyoung and Joohyun had been standing in front of the latter's dad's apartment unit for 30 minutes now. Joohyun couldn't make up her mind if she actually wanted to see her dad after everything or not.

Joohyun was too nervous to go alone so she asked Jiyoung to accompany her. And she certainly did.

"Get in there, 5 minutes won't hurt for your only dad. Hmm?" Jiyoung pushed her closer to the door to which Joohyun resisted.

"WAIT WAIT WAIT! Let me take deep breaths first," Joohyun waved her hands around the air before doing said deep breaths.

"You done yet? Great, now get in there!" Jiyoung laughed and stepped aside, leaning on the wall beside the door so it would look like it's only Joohyun to pay a visit.

Before knocking, Joohyun hesitated and smiled at Jiyoung first before softly muttering "Thank you for coming here with me."

"Oh don't even mention it."

A giggle came out from Joohyun then she finally gathered up the courage to knock on her dad's door. Hoping he would recognize her through the peephole.

No answer. Not even shuffling noises coming from the inside.

"Dad? Dad, it's me your daughter... Joohyun!"

A single thud was the only sign for them both that somebody's present within the apartment.

"Dad...? I know you're in there! You can't ignore your only daughter and child forever!" Joohyun sounded reluctant this time.

Click! And then another long segment of silence followed after. The door didn't open but Joohyun and Jiyoung knew it was unlocked.

Joohyun entered the unit and left the door open with Jiyoung outside, the girl had no plans of entering though since it's only supposed to be a dad and daughter moment.

She peaked, however, trying her best to go unnoticed, surprisingly Joohyun and her dad were having a seemingly normal conversation inside on his couch. It made Jiyoung think of her personal relationship with her dad.

Jiyoung got along better with her dad more than her mom despite having more similar qualities with her. Since she was a child, her dad accompanied her anywhere she'd like him to accompany her; mostly on playdates and school events. Drifting away from her dad is probably one of Jiyoung's fears.

The visit didn't take long and the entire time Jiyoung was just on standby outside. Joohyun didn't comment anything about her visit after.

"There are new flavors at the cafe I'm working at, let's try them out!"

"Spending your day off at your workplace? Gosh, Joohyun."

"I'm an underpaid barista making drinks she herself can't even drink, let's at least try them out, and maybe I could give some tips for the newbie who's in shift right now~"

"Okay but you pay for my drink!"

A week away from Christmas, Jiyoon finally came home from Seoul to spend her winter break. Jiyoung is admittedly happy but being the salty little sister she is, she didn't show it.

"Lee Jiyoon is back in the nest!" She resounded, making the 'rock and roll' gesture while pulling her luggage of 3 weeks inside.

"Hi, sweetie~" Their dad welcomed and hugged Jiyoon, the girl reciprocating the embrace.
