"Make a wish, you bastard!"
Beomgyu clasped his hands together and closed his eyes, everyone around him waited for him to finish wishing for a split-second before he blew all the candles out at once. The faint light illuminating his home's dining area didn't matter as they all had their focus on the birthday boy.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAaaAaAyY~ BeomgYuuUuuU~" Yeonjun hooked his arm around his only cousin whilst singing weirdly.
"I guess this is for you, the food tastes good though," Although Ryujin didn't sound genuine, Beomgyu knew she was only joking. He happily accepted her gift as she sat next to him at their table.
"Happy Birthday, you loser," Yoweon greeted.
"I'm still the best-looking guy in our band but... Happy Birthday," Kai patted his shoulder.
"I wish you a happy life, I guess," Taehyun simply smiled at the boy, "Just kidding, Happy Birthday, Beomgyu."
"Thank you," He said and gave everyone a stony stare, clearly fed up with all his friends' greetings, "What about you two? Got anything to say to me?"
Soobin and Yeonha looked like they were taken aback as they were just quietly sitting by the sidelines, the latter nudged Soobin and urged for him to go first with the greeting.
"I don't know, I'm only here for the food," Soobin shrugged, earning laughter from the entire table and a fake smile from Beomgyu, "Happy Birthday, though."
"Yeah, what he said," Yeonha pointed at Soobin, too lazy to come up with a more original greeting.
Beomgyu scoffed, "Are you guys really my friends?!"
"Okay, since none of us here greeted the birthday boy properly, what about we go around the table, telling him our best wishes before he shaves us all bald, hm?" Yoweon suggested.
"Girlfriend goes first!" Yeonjun reckoned before everyone cheered him on as a sign of agreement.
"Wait- Me?" Jiyoung snapped out of her trance and widened her eyes.
"NO! SHE GOES LAST! YOU GO FIRST!" Yeonha objected and put her arm over Jiyoung.
"Well?" Beomgyu waited for what Yeonjun has to say to him.
He cleared his throat and continued, "Well... Happy Birthday, Beomgyu. Despite what DNA tests say, you'll always be a little brother to me."
"Aww... Thanks, Yeonjun!"
"I'll go next so we can get this over with," Ryujin laughed, "I'm not the most social person and that means never having a best friend before so thank you for changing that and becoming the friend I never thought I needed but had, Happy Birthday, dingus."
"You guys... I'm getting emotional," Beomgyu faked a sob and removed his party hat from his head.
"OH- I'm next? Um... The band has never been this energetic and happy with someone before so thank you for never failing to put a smile on our faces~ You're my favorite bandmate!" Yoweon stuck her two thumbs up.
Kai heaved a sigh, "I'll also say you're my favorite bandmate for the benefit of it but anyways... You're the only person, aside from Yoweon, that makes school enjoyable for me. Your jokes are always hilarious too, so happy birthday, Beomgyu!"
"Happy Birthday. That's all I gotta say."
"TAEHYUN!"
"Alright, Happy Birthday. You're fun to be with and I like you even though it's not obvious, you're the best guitarist I've ever played with."
