"Why are you so quiet?"

Beomgyu just kept folding Jiyoung's clothes and placing them by her luggage. Nothing in her room was left beside her bed & the built-in closet as they were moving the very next day.

"Because you're leaving me all alone here."

She chuckled and shook her head, "Beomgyu, if I had a choice then I would choose to stay with you! But my Dad got promoted and now we have to move... That doesn't mean we'll lose contact though! I'll try to send you those strange things they call emails & catch up with you on a regular basis! It'll be like I never left!"

"What if you make new friends there and forget all about me, huh? What if you meet someone new? What if-"

"What if I slap you out of existence? Cheer up! That won't happen! We'll be back before you know it and we'll be together again!"

Beomgyu looked into her eyes, both wistful and hopeless, he doubted a lot in his little mind. And Jiyoung wanted those doubts to disappear, she wanted to stay so bad but unfortunately, she can't.

She needed to leave him behind after he had stuck with her through a lot.

Jiyoung could tell that he was about to cry, so she quickly searched for anything in her almost empty room to distract him from doing so. She did find something but it wasn't inside her room, it was outside her window, up in the not so quite blank sky.

"Hey, look! There are so many stars outside! The moon is so pretty too, let's look at it!" She quickly pulled him up from the floor and towards the window in her room to stargaze at the limitless view above.

And he was beyond fascinated, he looked at every star like it was his last, especially at the moon. Oh boy, did he look at the moon.

The night sky painted with drops of stars was certainly a sight to see, but her sight was the most enthralling to any beholder.

It was him. She wasn't looking at the sky, she was looking at him. Savoring every moment and making sure to keep them all in her heart for she knew that after tomorrow, only time can tell when they can reunite again.

The feeble, innocent, and unworldly little girl didn't know it yet but there it was; her first love, standing with her, counting the stars, and admiring the moon. She was as well but the moon she was admiring wasn't the floating rock, it was obviously him.

"I promise you, when we come back, I will never leave you again," Jiyoung said out of nowhere, making Beomgyu turn his head to her, pursing his lips.

"You promise?"

She did not reply.

He brushed it off and continued looking at the starry night, giggling, she averted her gaze out her window and look up at the view along with him.

For the last time, it felt as if there were only two kids in the world, looking out the window. One was bitterly happy, the other was sweetly lonely. One was ready to wait, the other wasn't sure if she was gonna come back.

Little did they know, the little promise she told him ended up being a lie.

The rain poured harder than ever.

Jiyoung was sitting down on the bottom of the staircase, on the first floor of Beomgyu's apartment, waiting for him. She told him to come out and promised him a talk that could sort things out.

But that was obviously not what she had in mind.

She heard his footsteps growing louder and louder, indicating that he was getting closer. She prepared herself for what she was about to do because God knows how much she doesn't want to do this.
