"Wow, that sounds like one hell of an experiment." Joohyun commented, with wide eyes not looking at Jiyoung but at her nails that she was painting black. Jiyoung on the other hand, who was lying down on Joohyun's bed, stood up from her position right after she was done narrating her story about the ignition she created.
"So who was your partner?" Joohyun dipped the little brush back into the little glass where all the black nail-polish is, then looked at her friend straight in the eye. Jiyoung popped her lips at the question and just scratched her head while looking around Joohyun's room.
"Oh, so it's Beomgyu..." Joohyun correctly guessed Jiyoung's partner for the extraordinary event that took place back in school, Now she just fidgeted her fingers and slowly nodded to tell Joohyun that she guessed it right.
Joohyun closed the lid for her black nail polish now that she's done, slammed it on the vanity table in front of her without laying an eye on Jiyoung then snapped her head to the latter one with a blank expression.
Her colorless facade was soon replaced by a mischievous grin as if she were teasing Jiyoung for having her childhood sweetheart as her partner. Jiyoung's fidgeting hands dropped to her lap then tilted her head while she stared back at Joohyun, now she's the one with the blank expression.
"Joohyun, whatever you're thinking right now, get that crap out of your head because I'm telling you nothing is going on plus! He's in love with another girl."
"Hyerin? I know that very well, sweetcakes. But they've been through ever since a year ago, that gives you all the time to take your man back!"
"Nah, I won't interfere with their problems. It's totally obvious that they're still head over heels about each other so I'll just stay in my lane because I'm not in the shoes to interrupt and- besides... I don't have any feelings for him left whatsoever."
"Hm.. Well, you aren't wrong when you said you didn't have the right to intervene in their relationship."
"Exactly! So I'll just stay here and watch shit go down between them."
"But you are wrong when you said that you don't like him anymore."
"Oh come on Joohyun, You know I can't put up with this topic! How many times do I have to go over this? It. was. just. puppy. love!"
"You aren't in the right to mess with their relationship but you also are not in the right to control your feelings, your heart is the one in control of that. And you can't tell it what to feel!"
"Fuck yeah I can! I'm the owner of this!" Jiyoung pointed to her chest with an angry frown, Joohyun sighed at the girl's response.
"You are the owner of that but you don't have complete control over it." She muttered before standing up from the chair in front of her vanity table and then sitting next to Jiyoung on her bed.
"Feelings are inevitable, those types of shit are unstoppable no matter what you do or say. 6 years' worth of love? Yeah, you can tell me it's only immature, but 6 years can't be gone in a couple of months!"
"Which is why I don't like him anymore, If a couple of months isn't enough then a couple of years should do. I haven't seen him in like what? half a decade, the feelings are probably gone by now."
"Just swallow the fact that you still have something left in store for him... Even if it's the tiniest amount." Joohyun squinted her eyes and squeaked her voice little by little.
"OH MY GOD JOOHYUN! I'M GONNA LOSE MY SANITY BECAUSE OF YOU!" Jiyoung pulled her hair, stood up, and faced her older friend with an irritated expression, Joohyun chuckled and placed her hand on her chest as if she were in a soap opera because of this.
