"What exactly do you two have to talk about?"

I stepped forward, walking closer to Hyerin with my eyes squinted and my brows in a frown. I'd never thought I'd see this girl again but here we are, holding myself back from just dragging her around.

"I'm not talking to you."

"You're talking to me now."

Hyerin smiled, the smile of an innocent person that would never do no wrong. And that smile doesn't suit her. It's like she washed her hands clean off of everything she did to Beomgyu.

"Can't he and I catch up as old schoolmates? Is there any harm in that?"

"The hell there is."

"How?" Her expression went from a smile to looking so offended, still maintaining that nice facade.

She cannot be serious. I don't know whether she's playing dumb or she's always been that dumb, but she really knows how to get into my nerves.

"You know how."

"Okay, if you say so, I'll leave you guys alone," Hyerin casually shrugged before waving at Beomgyu, "Nice meeting you again Beomgyu!"

We both didn't give her a reply and waited until she left us out here alone. And I hope it stays like that. I don't want her intruding into our lives anymore, the trauma is still carved in Beomgyu's heart. As much as I want to, I can't heal that trauma, only he can.

I turned around and met his still bloodshot eyes, the sides of his eyes were all so red from crying. I didn't know what to tell him, she's surely the last person on Earth he ever wanted to see. What is she even doing here?

As much as I want to ask him, asking him might be the stupidest thing to do at the moment. And since Hyerin is within the premise, it's best if we leave early, for obvious reasons...

"Let's go," I gazed softly at Beomgyu and patted his back, I picked up his robe and scarf from the stairs first before we went ahead and left for the night.

When we both laid down on his bed and started to find our goodnight's sleep, I noticed how he closed his eyes tonight without his usual happy grin, all his features fell into vacancy since Hyerin made the grand reappearance a while ago.

It hurt me seeing him hurt, it was one of the worst sights in the world... to see him in pain.

I may not be able to make that pain go away in an instant, but I'll surely do my best to ease that pain with something better.

I placed my hand on his cheek and rubbed my thumb on him, being careful not to wake him up, all the while trying to admire his sleeping face.

"I love you..." I mouthed before huddling into his chest.

I won't make the same mistakes as Hyerin. That's for sure.

The year came to a close pretty quickly, and of course, I'll be spending new year's with the person I love the most; something I've always wanted to do.

I celebrated Christmas with a few other of my friends and my family as well through video calls, I finally got a hold of Joohyun after so long, she looked really dazed then and... different. Nothing about her physical appearance changed, it was her overall energy. She looked drained out even though she had claimed to be 'okay'.

"What are you thinking about?" Beomgyu came out to the balcony, pushing his hair back as it's tousled around, not that it affected how good-looking he was, this guy is handsome no matter what he does. It's sort of making me envy him a bit.
