At a young age, Momoe got separated from her family during a hiking trip and lost in the woods. She was lost for four days before she was found and rescued, and she always to credit her survival to the mushrooms she ate in the woods. While she, understandably, became sick from all this and was stuck in a hospital for weeks after her rescue, she still believes it was her finding these mushrooms as the reason she lived through that tragic event. This story is one she has told other countless times, and one she is oddly proud of, as she "Toughed it out in the wilderness by eating mushrooms.". It was also this event that caused her to take an interest in mushrooms and begin studying them.
Momoe is an odd girl with an extreme fascination and adoration for mushrooms, as evidenced by her outfit. Despite being the youngest in the Killing Game, she absolutely abhors being treated like a child, and will always get in a bad mood when this happens. When she's not in a bad mood, though, she is a rather innocent and cheery girl, although this innocence can often be her downfall in such a terrible situation as a Killing Game. She also tends to think of herself as tough and strong due to her past, although the legitimacy of this is... Questionable.
