Chapter 5 - The Empty Promise Looming Over the Guilty (Deadly Life)

[Akihiko stood on the roof as the body discovery announcement played, staring down at the severed arm on the ground in disbelief.]

Akihiko: "W-What?! A body?! That... Can't be, though! There's no way... Someone else is dead! And... This isn't a body, this is just an arm... So why is the body discovery announcement playing...? What the hell is going on?! And... And... Whose... Arm is this...?"

Lios: "Good question!"

Akihiko: "Huh?"

[Akihiko turns and finds Lios & Muna approaching from the stairs. Muna is holding a tablet.]

Muna: "My, this is certainly a special body discovery! Just an arm? How special!"

Akihiko: "Hey, what's going on? Is someone really dead?!"

Lios: "Of course! Once again, one of you has killed another participant!"

Akihiko: "D-Dammit... Are you serious...? Well... Who the hell is dead...?"

Lios: "Hm..."

Muna: "Hm..."

Akihiko: "What? Just tell me, dammit!"

Muna: "Hm... What to do... Should we tell him?"

Lios: "Hm... Nah! It'd be more fun to keep it secret for now."

Akihiko: "What? Why?!"

Muna: "Because clearly, that's what the killer wants. To ensure that the victim is not known for now... We might as well honor their wishes!"

Lios: "Yup! We're very cooperative hosts, you see!"

[Akihiko looks to the source of the voice, and sees a familiar face coming through the stairwell.]

Hisoka: "...Someone else is really dead?"

Muna: "Oh, just in time! And yes, one of your fellow participants has been killed yet again."

Hisoka: "..."

Lios: "Anyway, the others are being too slow, just start the investigation already!"

Muna: "Yup! Here's the Eclipsed Report for this case, good luck!"

[Muna hands the tablet to Akihiko, and the two robots exit the roof.]

Akihiko: "What the hell...?"

Hisoka: "...This... This is just an arm...?"

Akihiko: "Yeah, I don't get it either. I came up here looking for where everyone else was, and I found it here..."

Hisoka: "Weird."

Akihiko: "Yeah... Actually, where have you been?"

Hisoka: "I... Was in the computer lab. I woke up early."

Akihiko: "Computer lab? What were you doing there?"

Hisoka: "...Sorry, I can't say."
