Ilaria's POV
Ever heard of revenge? It's just another term for disrespecting yourself…
It doesn't bring back what has been taken away. Causing harm to satisfy yourself seems like a pathetic thing to do. I'm not going to lower myself to the level of my enemy to quench my anger.
But what I believe in is failure. And it's unforgivable. Failure is not tolerated. And there's only one way to call it off. It's to fix it. If you're alive even after a miserable fall , get back up and end your unfinished business. Otherwise, death is the only way out. There's nothing called quitting . At least...not in our world.
3rd Person POV"Earth to Ria!"
The said woman flinched slightly at the sudden loud voice calling her out. Only to roll her eyes and go back to staring out of the large window.
It was just one of the finest days. The sun was out but it wasn't scorching hot.The room was well furnished. Too well actually. Everything accomodated in it wasn't anywhere near cheap.
But nothing appealed to the people currently present there.
Ilaria stood in front of the glass window , staring absentmindedly into nothing particular. But it isn't a mystery that it's impossible for this woman to relax. Especially in such a critical situation. Not everyone will be able to sense the restlessness that was shooting through her body.
But by now, Eco has become used to it. Her relaxed features , which apparently weren't relaxed, was enough proof to how impatient she has become.
But what the male was eyeing silently wasn't exactly the woman but the glass glistening in the sunlight with a generous amount of amber liquid in it.
"For heaven's sake…"
He mumbles under his breath before walking closer to the woman.
" Where did you even get this?"
This time the woman was completely unfazed and like before didn't bother to answer much less look at him.
" Your reckless behaviour deserves some sort of award Ria. "
" Oi!"
That's the only word that came out of the woman when the glass was snatched from her loose grip. The sharp eyes narrowed to a dangerous level.
" Keep glaring at me . You're not getting it back."
Eco stated calmly, now looking right at her eyes. It takes quite an amount of courage to do that. And that explains why she had the glass of liquor when Eco clearly stated to an attendant not to give her any alcoholic beverage. Not everyone has the guts to stand still and unbothered when this woman glares. That's usually a warning more than a threat.
" Did you even look at yourself?"
Amazingly, his voice was leveled as he continued to stare at the purple-head, who really didn't look pleased at all. If possible, the question worsened her mood.
"...there's nothing to look at."
Which was a straight out lie that even she realised and looked away. His stare examining every inch visible of her was annoying.
" Did you tear it off?"
Silence was the only reply he got. Setting the glass down on a table he proceeded to stare at a particular spot on the woman's throat. Not the throat, it was the white collar of the shirt she was wearing.
Ilaria still didn't look back nor protested when a hand opened the first button of her shirt , pulling the collar back to reveal a half healed wound.
