" Are you insane?! You brought her here?!"
A furious Kunikida glared at his carefree colleague. The tall brunet rolled his eyes. A soft sigh escaping his lips.
"You've been lecturing me for an hour now Kunikida-san! It's really not a big deal. She doesn't even have any strength to-"
" I don't care if she doesn't have any strength to fight ! This is not the place where you should have brought her!"
Dazai stared at Kunikida in the most unimpressed way.
I was going to say 'doesn't have any strength to stand up'. Oh well…
" We are handing her back to the military as soon as we can. It's absolutely stupid to keep a criminal as dangerous like her inside the agency."
Kunikida's stern and businesslike tone indicated the end of this hour-long conversation. Dazai kept his mouth shut. He didn't disagree but neither did he agree.
True. Keeping this woman here is stupid and unsafe for the agency members. But there were things that the brunet needed to know. It wasn't easy to get hands on her. He needs to get the information before handing her to the police.Or else this foreign organisation would continue making ruckus in Yokohama. Taking just one person in custody wouldn't solve the problem.
Dazai sighed again , sitting down. Exhausted from having to hear Kunikida yelling at him . But he understood the concern and fear. Two members of the agency were already in the hospital because of that woman. No wonder none of the agency members were happy about his decision. But even after all the lecturing, Dazai was smart enough to understand that even Kunikida knew how much of a great help it would be if they could get out some information from this offender. Tracking down this whole organisation on their own is simply impossible.
"...are you alright, Laura-chan?"
The brunet blinked as he turned to face the girl sitting beside him. She has been quiet the whole time. Her soft pink eyes staring at the floor. Worry was written all over her expression.
It wasn't too surprising. She always worried too much for too many people in Dazai's opinion. The only person she'd leave out from the list of people to be concerned about is herself.
Her hands were clasped tightly on her lap. She didn't notice the man asking her a question until she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Laura-chan?"
Flinching a little she looked up, following the soft voice laced with concern for her. Dazai's hand gently squeezed her shoulder in a reassuring way.
" A-ah it's nothing ,Da-chan. Just-"
She frowned as her voice trailed away. She didn't want to make Dazai feel like he had made a bad decision. She trusted him enough to not do anything that might hurt the agency members. But at the same time , it was nerve-racking for her.
To think someone was cruel enough to fight and bring down both Kenji and Kyouka was terrifying on its own. And Lauretta Ellis had met this said woman before. It wasn't a sight she had forgotten. The fact that she returned home unharmed was a miracle. The whole being of that woman screamed danger.
" It's okay… Nothing will happen. I promise."
The soft voice of the man was surprisingly comforting. Dazai noticed her expression slowly changing from worried and unsure to comforted and confident. A small smile played in his lips as he stared at the brunette girl fondly for a few more moments before moving away from her. He hated to make her worry.
