Smoothing down her appropriately red dress, Y/N is excited for her evening with Jimin. Yes it will be in a restaurant full of other happy couples, but somehow they always managed to drown out anyone else in the room, leaving them in their own little love bubble.
Jimin had instructed her to dress formally, telling her they would be dining at a fancy restaurant but leaving out any details. Just that she had to be ready by eight.
Going for red to match the occasion, she chose to go with a dress with a daringly high slit on the leg, exposing her all the way up to the hip bone knowing that it was sure to drive Jimin wild.
Turning as she hears him entering their bedroom, she smiles as she notices his formal attire. A well fitted suit with a red handkerchief subtly peeking out of his breast pocket.
Perfect.
"You look breathtaking." Jimin whispered, stepping behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist. "But your outfit is missing something."
Stepping back, he lifts a gift back he had hidden behind himself, grinning at her reaction when she gasps.
"Jimin. I've told you countless times that you don't need to buy me gifts. Just being by my side is enough."
"I know. But I feel like I've been a shitty fiancé lately, so I thought that maybe some sorry diamonds might make up for it."
"A kiss would have sufficed." She smiled, lifting her hair to allow him to place the delicate jewellery around her neck. But she had to admit, Jimin did have impeccable taste.
"I'm not done yet." He grinned, spinning her towards him and wrapping a matching bracelet around her wrist. "And lastly."
Leaning forward, he pressed his lips to hers, humming as soon as they connected before pulling away with a quivering breath.
"We better leave before we never make it out of the bedroom."
Once they had reached the restaurant, they both had to stifle their laughs as they stepped inside. It looked completely over the top like cupid himself had paid a visit and threw up everywhere.
"A little over the top, I know." Jimin grinned as he took his seat opposite her, instantly reaching across the table and taking her hand as the waiter took their drink orders. "But it's what you expect on Valentine's Day."
"Do you know how the celebration of Valentine's Day started?" Y/N asked, looking around the room at all the loved up couples before looking back at a smiling Jimin.
"On February 14, around the year 270 A.D, Valentine, a holy priest in Rome in the days of Emperor Claudius II, was executed. Apparently the emperor wanted to maintain a strong army but so many men were reluctant to join for fear of having to leave their wives to go out to battle. The emperor then decided to ban all marriages but St Valentine went behind his back and performed them anyway. But when he was caught, he was sentenced to death by beating and beheading, on February 14th. Also he had apparently befriended the daughter of one of the guards that were keeping him imprisoned and he left her a farewell note signed 'Your Valentine.'"
