Double update!! Make sure you read 18 (XVIII) first

Spending the night with all of their parents surprisingly turned out pretty pleasant. Although Jimin's mom had been harshly put in her place the first time they all met, it seemed to have been forgotten as they all sat around talking about nothing but the baby for hours on end.

The men at some point in the night decided to go into the garden and light the fire pit and gather around for a man chat with a bottle of aged whiskey, leaving Y/N with the mothers secretly cursing the men for being able to drink.

But she didn't mind, she liked that they all got along so well, it made for a peaceful life.

But she hated that she was lying to her parents, her dad especially. She was a daddy's girl through and through and each time he looked at her he was beaming with pride and it was killing her knowing that she was hiding such a big secret from them.

So once everyone had gone to bed, she took the opportunity to try and have a talk with him. Being her dad, and technically the first love of her life, she knew he would understand, and hopefully provide some sound advice.

"Dad? Are you just about to go to bed?" She asked, spotting him in the kitchen, placing his glass in the sink.

"I was, do you need something?

"I just wanted to talk but it's okay, go to bed." She shakes her head, ready to turn and walk away before he spoke again.

"Not if my princess needs me." He called after her. "Tell me sweetheart, what's on your mind?"

"It's about Jimin." She frowned, dropping her eyes to the heated tile flooring before giving him a small smile.

"Ah, then this calls for the bottom step of the stairs." Taking her hand, he gives her a soft smile before walking her towards the staircase and forcing her to sit before wrapping his arm around her.

"I, um, Jimin and I aren't, well technically, we broke up."

"I could sense something was up." Her dad sighed. "What happened?"

"Where do I even begin?" She breathes out a forced laugh. "It all started from when we were in the Bahamas. He gave up a very important win to Jungkook and that caused the poker community to doubt his skills I guess, I don't even know. But since then, he has been trying to prove that he's still number one meaning he has been playing a lot more, which I totally get, but it slowly went from a few extra tournaments a month, to cash games most nights and flying all over the country just to get himself noticed again."

"Well it is his job dear. I used to travel for my job too, your mom understood."

"Yeah but did you ever choose your job over her?" She said, raising her eyebrows at him.

"No, never. Your mom would kick my ass if I ever-oooh. Okay I get it now. He was disregarding your relationship to go and play with his friends."

"And his temper grew." Y/N nodded. "I asked the guys to talk to him, maybe make him see that he had a problem. But he just blew up at them, came home to me and promised to spend more time with me. And then, on Valentine's day, I was just about to tell him about the baby, his phone buzzed on the table and I became a second thought all over again."

"Want me to beat him up?" Jack says, puffing out his chest trying to look tough.

"No dad." Y/N laughed. "I think he gets it now. Now that I left him. But I don't want to leave him. But I don't want the man he is right now either. I want my old Jiminie. The man that would fly into the living room and kiss the top of my head and shove a cookie in my mouth, just because he thought I looked like I needed a cookie. The man that would thoughtlessly rub my feet when we were watching TV just because I wear heels to work and he knew my feet hurt. The man that called me beautiful more often than he would call me by my name. He knows he needs professional help, but he's reluctant to take it. I even gave him an ultimatum which I know is not good but I didn't see any other choice. In six months both of our lives are going to change dramatically and I want him to be the kind of father I know he can be. Just like the husband I know he can be."

"He's probably just terrified sweetheart. And embarrassed. Trust me, he wants to get help, but he's just scared of looking weak. But what makes you think he doesn't want to get better?"

"We broke up three weeks ago. He has made no attempt to get help so far." She said lowly, disappointed with Jimin's lack of effort.

"Then offer to go with him." Jack shruggs. "Hold his hand sweetheart. I know this man, and he worships the ground you walk on and he's probably eating himself up inside for how things have turned out. I knew he wasn't cutting onions Y/N. He can't cook."

Hearing a quiet sniffle coming from his daughter, Jack pulls her closer, hugging her tightly to his body and letting her get out all of her emotions. She had been bottling up all of her sadness since she had the break up talk with Jimin, trying to look as if she was strong, that she was fine without him, when in reality, she just wanted to crawl back into his arms and forget he had ever done anything wrong.

She hated what she was doing to him. As if he wasn't emotionally fragile enough, she was torturing him by being kind, acting like she was okay with being around him. Like she was moving on and only accepting him as the father of her child and a close friend, not the man she was still unequivocally in love with and was struggling to live without.

"Uh dad." She said, wiping her eyes and lifting her head to look up at him. "The thing is, I moved out and um, well, I take a pretty modest salary from the poker club, to make sure that Ava and Alex get a good wage. I really don't want to ask Jimin, with us being broken up and all but, I don't have much left in my savings and my house-"

"Say no more sweetheart. I'll transfer you some money tomorrow."

"Thanks dad." She sighs, hugging him again and resting her head on his shoulders. "Do you think I should just forgive Jimin? Do you think I'm being a little too harsh?"

"Some situations require tough love." He shrugs. "But I can see that you're miserable without him. So my advice is, keep the distance, stay at your house for the time being. But don't shut him out, and when he's ready, be there to hold his hand when he goes to get help."

"You're right." She sighed. "I'll offer to go with him, see how that goes."

"You still love him sweetheart, and I know it's tough trying to act like you're okay. But just don't make it look like you don't need him because then, what the hell is he fighting for?"

Nodding with a smile, she helps her dad up from the step, calling him an old man before giving him a tight hug and following him up the stairs.

Walking into the bedroom she once called her own, her eyes sting with fresh tears as she sees Jimin snuggled up in their bed, leaving more than half available for her to climb into.

Although they were broken up, she missed him even though he was right in front of her. Like if she was to reach out to touch him, he would disappear.

But slowly climbing into the bed, she closed the distance between them by wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head on his chest, hearing his sleeping heartbeat against her ear as she breathed in his scent.

"I miss you." She whispered before rolling away, putting the distance between them once more.
