Pearl's P.O.V.

I cannot believe Rose is considering on bringing the Batman to the team. He's a human, not a gem. He's also very defective for wearing that costume.

Who in their right mind would wear that? Humans are so primitive and illogical. What does Rose see in him?

And does she really believe in those stories Phoebe told her? Human crocodile? Steroid addict? Murderous clown? Dwarf crime boss? Hypnotic hat dwarf? Mechanical ice man?

That all sounds like a work of fiction from a very creative mind. At best, he's just some human who won a world record by most impressive Halloween costume. The test Rose has in mind will definitely explain just how Batman would handle our missions, assuming he can handle them.

Today, we'll be meeting Phoebe's next friend, Bruce Wayne. According to Greg, he's a billionaire, which means he has a lot of human currency called "money." And he's also a playboy, and I know what that means.

He better stay away from me and Rose if he knows what's good for him. I heard from Rose that he would be visiting for coffee.

(Rose Quartz) I cannot wait to meet this other human!

She jumps. I still don't see why she has such a fixation on these creatures.

(Amethyst) It's not gonna be like Batman, though. It's just some rich dude.

That is true. He won't be like him. If anything, he would probably be like Greg, obnoxious, loud male human.

A knock was heard. Greg answers it.

(Greg) Hey, Phoebe. And this is--

(Bruce) Bruce Wayne. The pleasure's mine. Greg Universe, I presume?

(Greg) Yeah.

(Bruce) I recognize your voice off of your songs.

(Greg) Oh, yeah? You a fan?

(Bruce) Not really. But I know someone who is a fan, though. Unfortunately, he couldn't come. He's binge watching a show.

(Greg) Oh, well, I better send you a CD back so you can give it to him.

(Bruce) You just have to remind me.

(Greg) Right.

He cleared his throat.

(Greg) And these are gems Phoebe told you about, right?

(Bruce) Yeah. She said something about how they're unique.

(Rose Quartz) Hello!

She eagerly holds her hand out to shake his.

(Bruce) Hello. I believe you're Rose, right?

(Rose Quartz) Yes! That is correct! Pearl, come meet Bruce Wayne.

I listen to her command and I approach the human who is wearing a suit. He dresses up nicely and he seems to be polite. Perhaps I've misjudged him.

(Bruce) I take it you're Pearl. Though, Rose practically gave you away.

He held out his hand for me to shake. I was hesitant, at first, but I shook it after a few seconds. He has a surprisingly strong grip for a human.
