Chapter 5: Showdown

Arkham Batman has a special combo move that just doesn't seem interesting to use in this story. It's called Batswarm where he jumps up and slams his fist onto the ground and it causes bats to fly around him and any enemy is stunned temporarily, giving the player a chance to turn the tables. This ability was only available in Origins and City, and got replaced with Environmental Takedowns in Knight.

I love using it against lieutenants and enforcers because it stops them from attacking you and gives you space from the enemies trying to stop you. But, I just can't use it in this story because calling bats out of nowhere is just unrealistic in certain situations. So, I'm replacing it with the Shockwave Stun which is basically a replica of Batswarm but instead of summoning bats, it's just a shockwave that bursts when Batman hits the ground hard enough.

Shockwave Stun isn't entirely a original thing because it's making another use of "Shock Wave" when Batman hits the ground from dive bombing. I was just clarifying in case any Arkham fans were wondering of Batman suddenly gaining a shockwave ability.

3rd Person P.O.V.

Phoebe was asked by Rose if Batman could come back the next night. Phoebe asked Bruce if Batman could come back tonight and he reluctantly said yes. It's not that he hated equipping the suit on, he hates that he's not being used for proper reasons instead of doing something more important than training or sparring.

This was just supposed to be a one-time thing, but it's escalating into something more. He's just thankful that Gotham is safe during the time he is spending at Beach City. And he doesn't really trust them, they're too... friendly.

Well, not all of them were friendly. That Pearl was too distrusting to him. He can understand why.

It's almost weird enough that he trusts her more than the rest of the four gems. Though, his trust for her is low, there's only a few people who he trusts a lot, even his life. One of those people is Alfred.

When the night took over the light outside and the moon is visible in the sky. Batman glides to the top of the beach house to look down at the four gems who are waiting for him. He listens to them.

(Amethyst) Think he'll show?

(Garnet) He'll definitely appear.

(Rose Quartz) I'm excited to see The Batman in action.

(Pearl) Rose, you do know his name isn't actually The Batman. It's just Batman.

(Rose Quartz) It's a sign of respect. Just like your respect for me.

(Pearl) I guess...

Batman used Detective Mode to scan them. He forgot to do that when he first met them. This was just to see if Detective Mode would work on them.

He scanned Pearl first.

Condition: Calm.

Then, he scanned Amethyst.

Condition: Calm.

Then Garnet.

Condition: Calm.

Lastly is Rose Quartz.

Condition: Excited.

He noticed that he can also see their gemstones in their forms. Yeah, he knows they're made of light means they hardly weigh anything. The gemstones inside their forms are identical to the gemstones inside the Earth and in jewelry stores.
