Pierce lifted me from his body to get himself off the bed. He grabbed his shirt from the floor and tossed it at me before grabbing my phone from the pocket of my pants. I threw the oversized shirt over my bare body.
"It was your mom." He said tossing the phone towards me.
"I know. I was supposed to be home," I looked at the time on the front screen of my phone, "an hour and a half ago." I got off the bed and looked down at the shirt hitting the top of my thighs. Pierce's focus jumped to the way his shirt hung over my body. "I can't walk in my home smelling like sex." I ran my fingers through my hair watching Pierce's eyes watch the hem of his shirt raise up my thighs.
"It's a sexy smell." He said adjusting his focus to my face.
I rolled my eyes. "Text her for me? Tell her Casey and Levi were running late. I meant to call but lost track of time. I'll be home in twenty minutes." I said moving across his room and entering his bathroom. "And pick me out and outfit. My bags in your car." I smiled at him shutting the bathroom door behind me.
I heard the sound of his bedroom door clicking closed as I turned on the water to warm it before jumping in and washing the smell of our sex off my skin. In seven minutes, I was in and out and drying my body. I opened the door slowly with the towel wrapped around my body. Pierce's eyes jumped to the door at the sound of it opening. He had fixed his appearance in the process.
"Clothes." I smiled at him holding out one of my hands, still hiding myself behind the door despite being covered with a towel.
Pierce rose from the bed and handed me a pile of clothes I knew weren't mine. I glared at him as the clothes hit my hand. "Pierce I'm going shopping I can't walk-" he cut me off before I could continue.
"Charlee you look good in my clothes. Better than I do. I like the way my clothes just hang off your shoulders engulfing you fully. It's sexy."
I wasn't going to fight him, despite knowing the questions I'd get from my family. I shut the door and changed into his clothes. First, my undergarments, then his shirt and sweats which made me look like a homeless person, but this wasn't new to me. This was my normal clothing back before I moved here. I walked out of the bathroom after rolling the waist of his sweats down a few times to try and fix their oversizing
"See, perfect." He smiled at me reaching his hand out to mine. "Your mom said it wasn't a big deal and told you to tell me to drive safely. There's no rush. She was just worried about you."
"Thanks." I smiled at him.
We got in the car after gathering up my things from his room and he drove me back to my place. I held his hand in mine the entire time. Studying how much the tattoos on his hands had faded in the months since I met him. I traced over the one on the hand in mine causing him to jump a bit from the unexpected touch.
"Do you think about them?" I looked at him trying to gauge how my question was settling in him. His emotion didn't change and I wasn't sure if it was a good or a bad thing.
"Sometimes." That's all I got. This was his way of ending conversations. Short answers. I knew I'd never get his past from him. But I had his sister to fill the gaps. That was enough for me.
The rest of the car ride was silent as most times it was. The only sound being the radio or one of us quietly singing along to the sound coming through the speakers of his fancy car.
He pulled into my drive with a bump. You'd think with the fancy neighborhood that we'd have a driveway that didn't feel like a damn speed bump every time you entered it but that wasn't the case. His hands bounced up my thigh squeezing as it reached where my leg hit my hip.
"Thanks for the ride Kingston."
"Always Baker." He leaned over the center console of the car to kiss me but I backed away. He huffed at my reaction.
"What?" I asked innocently.
"Who do you think you are backing away from me?" He leaned closer to me as my back hit the passenger door. I had nowhere to go.
"I don't want them to see." I said quietly looking up at my house that matched the size of Pierce's. It was still unbelievable that this place was the place I got to call home.
"Fuck them." He said pushing his lips softly against mine. Something I didn't expect by how pushy he was being. It gave me a flutter in my chest that made me feel so alive. "Text me. I'll see you soon." He moved back to sitting face forward in the driver's seat.
"I love you." I said softly as I opened the door.
"And I love you." He saidas I shut the door and walked up into my house.
