The lunch room around us slowly turned back to normal. We lost all the attention of the groups of tables.
I wanted to leave the table, get away from the devil herself. Pierce didn't want to though. What Pierce wants is what Pierce gets. He sat down in his normal seat pulling me down to sit on his lap. I was awkwardly facing the girl who used to be his.
I propped my feet up on my original chair, might as well no one else was going to be sitting there. I waited for a snide comment from Ally but nothing came. For once she was focused on something other than Pierce.
Grayson looked over at me, trying to gauge how I was feeling. It was typical Grayson manners. Completely different from those of his sister. I gave him a thumbs up. It was one that no one else saw.
The blonde haired boy smiled at me before returning himself to a conversation going on at the table.
I could feel the eyes of Grayson's sister staring at Pierce and I. I didn't have to look in her direction to know she had a death lock stare on Pierce and I. She hated that I had won the battle. There was nothing left for her to do. Pierce had officially made his choice.
The rest of the lunch period went with separate conversations. It was couples against non. Even though Reece and Harlow weren't actually dating. It was just easier to group them as one. They would always be together without being together.
"I'm excited for lacrosse seasons to start. I'm sick of sitting around." Reece looked at Pierce. "You joining the boys this year?"
"You came at the end of their season last year, didn't you?" I joined my brother in looking at my boyfriend.
"Yeah, I didn't play. I was a baseball boy at my last school."
I thought about Pierce dressed in a baseball uniform. I wished I had pictures of it. I bet he looked so damn good. That was definitely something I would have to ask Casey for. She was still in contact with their parents. I'm sure she could get a hold of a few photos.
"You can't split up our crew and go to baseball Pierce." Reece exclaimed.
"Reece, he can do what he wants." Harlow joined the conversation, placing her hand lightly on Reece's shoulder as she spoke. She was always so soft, kind.
"The guys have spent a lot of time teaching me the ins and outs of lacrosse. They have one year to convert me. If I hate it this year, it's back to baseball for senior year. The boys will have to miss me." Pierce smiled as he wrapped his arm around me, pulling me into him.
It's like he could feel Ally's stare as well. That or he caught her staring. It was probably the latter of the two. Even with me, Pierce couldn't help but stare at his ex. I understood, she was absolutely beautiful. Even with the fucked up face she still looked perfect.
"I'm surprised you guys don't do football all year round." I looked between Reece and Pierce.
"You need some variety. Though, if football were an all year round sport in school, I'm pretty sure we would all be doing that instead."
"Live and breathe football." Pierce smiled. "It's in the blood."
"Yet I would have never known that." I looked at Pierce.
"The group home was a different me." Pierce pulled me towards him gently, planting a kiss to my head. "I'm glad you know both sides of me. Both are me and I know you love both."
I smiled up at my brown hair, blue eyed beauty. "Always love."
"You two are still so mushy and disgusting." Reece rolled his eyes as he leaned back in his chair.
