Pierce turned on the television for me while I curled up with a blanket on the couch. "Anything special you want to watch your highness?"
I could go about this two ways. My mind was weighing my options quickly as he waited for my response. I could use what I would say before all the drama or I could go with what any normal person would respond to this question with. Being that today had gone so well I was going to go with the worst of the two options, probably. But I needed to bring the joy back between Pierce and I.
"You taking your clothes off." I looked at the boy I loved up and down as he stood there holding the television remote in his hand. My eyes tracing the veins down his arms poking out on his hands. The tightness of his shirt against his torso. The way his jeans hugged tightly to his crotch.
I caught him off guard and I knew it by the look on his face when my eyes made their way back to his. "I'm sorry. What?" He cleared his throat and his face started to turn a light shade of red.
"I want to watch. You. Taking your clothes off. In your sister's living room." I sat up from my relaxed position on the couch and reached for his arm that was just out of my reach.
Pierce watched my actions like a predator watches its prey. He focused on every little move I made. All while he was trying to process the words, I was throwing at him.
"You- you don't mean that." He stuttered out.
I leaned forward the extra bit I needed to get him in my reach. My fingers curled around his arm, grabbing it and pulling him towards me. His feet followed his arms motion moving closer to me. I made him sit on the coffee table that was in front of the couch.
"You're right maybe you shouldn't show me the body I've spent days, weeks, months, dreaming and thinking about." I smirked at him.
"Charlee." He groaned as he dropped his hand placing his elbows on his knees.
"Hey." I lifted his head to look at me. "I'll stop. I'm sorry." I placed a light kiss on his cheek. "Any romcom is fine."
"Typical Charlee answer." He looked back at the television putting on a romcom before focusing back on me. "I'm going to head home for the night."
"You can-"
"No Charlee. You said it yourself you're still upset with me. It's best if I go home. I'll be back in the morning." He stood up placing a kiss on the top of my head. "I love you."
"I love you." I sighed as he left the house without another word.
I focused on the movie for about an hour before drifting off into dreamland. I wasn't there long. Little hands were grabbing my arm pulling me out of my slumber. I looked into the darkness at the face of the little human that was in front of me finding it to be Ryatt.
"Come." I pulled her up onto the couch with me and we fell back to sleep without another word.
We woke up the next morning to Ryder running around the living room with a toy airplane in his hand. He always had the most energy in the morning.
"Good morning." I said stretching as Ryatt began to wake up herself.
"Morning!" Ryder said as cheerful as ever. I was so not a morning person and I have no idea how this boy was one. Nothing about any Bakers were happy about mornings. Just Ryder.
"We make cookies today?" Ryatt said joining the conversation with a soft morning voice.
"I forgot about cookies." I smiled. "Of course. We should make them before your mom and dad get home. We can surprise them."
The both of them were excited to make a mess because, I knew, and they knew, that they were going to be making more of a mess than actually making cookies.
Just as I popped the first batch into the oven the front door opened. I only heard one pair of footsteps so I knew right away that it was Pierce returning. It made my heart feel full again to have him back. Even though I was supposed to be upset with him.
"I smell cookies!" Pierce sounded as he rounded the corner into the kitchen. "Holy sh- what happened in here?"
"Ryder opened the flour and it went everywhere." Ryatt said laughing, her eyes squinting as she replicated Ryder's actions from making a mess with the flour.
"I don't think this is flour." Pierce bent down and picked up a rogue chocolate chip between his fingers and held it out for them to see.
"Charlee was throwing them at us." Ryder said joining in on Ryatt's laughter.
"I would never do such a thing. I am an adult. I don't make messes." I put my hands on my hips. "Now you're just lying Ryder." I stepped towards my little brother and reached my arms out to grab him but he took off running around the kitchen island while I chased him.
"P help!" Ryder yelled out as I got closer to him. I rounded the corner of the island closest to Pierce and he wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me towards him pulling me from my sprint.
"That's not fair." I tried to kick out of his arms but it was no use. I huffed causing Pierce to put me down. "The littles are cheaters."
"Nope I'm just their Superman." A smirk rose to Pierce's face. "I save them just like you always have."
